I can't narrate these, there's just no time. I don't even know if I'll be able to keep up with recording them, but while I can I will and I'll explain my methods here in the description.
If you don't know what inktober is, you can read more about it here: mrjakeparker.com/inktober I'm not following the prompts though.
So first I did some thumbs just to try out some of the ideas I had. I ended up settling for the one with the ink bottle, you might remember it from an earlier drawing, then I got about 30 pictures of octopus for reference. I tried to be as accurate as possible except for the eyes which I decided to make front facing since it didn't look odd.
And for this drawing I did a pencil sketch and as you can tell in some areas I erased quite a lot. I definitely cannot do ink freehand at all. Hopefully in the future I can but I need some sort of base. Anyways, then I lined it with a thin Faber Castell Pitt Pen. I don't know if you can tell but I was doing very tiny timid strokes, definitely DON'T emulate me, lol.
And the roughened paper made me make a few mistakes at the end but somehow the ink erased? I don't know what happened, I was mystified, but it ended looking quite good, I only had to clean up very little on the scan, mostly marks that were already on the paper. Now I did forget to ink the tentacles behind the glass, but I did it, re-scanned it, and they're there at the end.
