Respeck all Rasta. If only Muslims could learn different times call for a different conscientiousness. As a child in rural Jamaica, Santa Cruz,.this was back in the 70's, I remember Rasta elders telling me of cosmic energies, Ital living and the importance of respecting all life. i vaguely remember them also speaking of 7 points of energy and the importance of being still (meditation) and controlling ones breathe. very deep for a young kid to grasp but that wisdom has come forward today into my being, love Love Rasta and Rasta spirit. Jamaica's so blessed to have been the birth place of this divine spirit of mind and body.
Recently I've been drawn to Rastafari, so I'm learning the histories and philosophies of real rastafaris. So much love and respect for this video. And those people were some beautiful souls

It is Egyptian but the symbol comes from seeing the sun setting over the sea or nile and the union of father sun and mother waters, which give birth.

Thank you for your feedback, its something that I am fretting. the fact that the youth have no respect for the elders and the righteous path. I am still headed there and not wanting to stay in Kingston the entire time I want to see what life in the mountains will be like. I have plans for the island and hopefully the youth who are willing to do better for themselves.

Man began eating meat after the flood with Noah. Today there is more humans to feed and meat was given as food. We also read in the New Testament that it is not what we eat or wear will defile us but what comes out of the mouth. With understanding man is judged according to his works. H.I. M. says he glorifies in the Bible and in it we should find the truth for ourselves. Love is the answer and universal love is the key to acceptance towards each other.
My dear Dede, the after the flood excuse for meat eating, is just that. In this point in human history we can deed much more people from an acre of vegetable matter than cows or animals. Anyhow it's time to stop shedding blood. Such habits will not go into the 5th Dimension and above. Now people are eating people.

In today's world all the food we eat is questionable and more individuals are combating various food borne illnesses. We can only pray and hope that the food we eat is not poisonous to our system. I don't write or make the rules.

The world has changed tremendously and it's simply hard to dictate what and how people should eat. In Amharigna (Amharic) the native Ethiopian language of the Emperor, Ras Tafari in fact does not mean the head creator. This is wrong. Yes Ras does mean Head & it is derived from the Hebrew Rosh which also means Head. But Tafari (Teferi) does not mean creator!!!!! Tafari means without fear or fearless one!!!!!! Creator in Amharic is Fetari (ፈጣሪ) ~ creator /fäT'ari/. So in truth to say Ras Tafari you are actually saying the Head fearless one, you are not really saying the Head creator, you just think that is what you are saying!!!!!! Haile Selassie was named Ras(meaning king) Tafari(his first name) before his coronation in 1930 where his name change from Tafari Makonnen to Haile Selassie I.. Now Christians follow Christ Jesus, reason for the religion Christianity.. Dreads follow Selassie aka Ras Tafari which makes them Rastafarians, just as to born in Jamaica makes you a Jamaican. So if one believes that Ras Tafari is the 2nd coming of Christ and worships him as such. Why wouldn't Rastafarian be a religion?

I am a Rasta Man, i'm not a religious person, i don't follow no bible or any other religious books, i live an Afrocentric spiritual lifestyle. tho if someone was to say i am religious, i don't have no problem with that, and i would not try to convince them different, because i am a part of something that can be seen as a religion for a number of reasons. it is true, most rasta are realigious and some are not, we just spiritual.
Cheetahda1 Yeah there are certainly aspects of Rastafari that seem religious, in that many rastas come from a Judo-Christian background and so bring that into the movement. Although what makes it not a religion is that theres no hierarchical order, theres no one to dictate what you believe and to say it is wrong or right. Rasta is more of a mystic because people from all walks of life can join in the livity for example I've met nuff elder dem with Buddhist orientations, or Hindu even Tao. A religion discriminates and says we are right and they are wrong, whereas Rastafari recognizes that we have our truth but everyone has got there own truth. A lot of rastas read the bible and may see Haile Selassie as a savior kind of figure but it doesnt stop there, as they will study deep into the philosophy into its origins in Egypt etc. Thats why I see it as more of a way, than a religion.

I'm ethiopian and it's disrespectfull to make a whole believe system based on the last emperor of ethiopia acting as if he's the Messiah while he never claimed to be that, he was probably an orthodox christian and a believer in Jesus christ. The whole rastafari movement is based on biblical judaism but with their own twist in it. Taking scriptures when it suits them, taking things out of context. So many mislead people . Jesus christ only is lord and savior.
