@@luciano3533 cock and cock start with the same letter, are written same but its has 2 different meanings. which cock is bad and which cock is good now?
Can you imagine the individuals hearing this for the 1st time in the 1600's? It was also first performed and debuted in the Sistine Chapel. Absolutely beautiful...
It would have sounded very different - the higher voices of soprano or treble didn't exist back then, and so the top part were sung by men (countertenors) Edit: castrati, not countertenors.
Musically the are superb but their diction is impecable. Too often in Latin based sung music one cannot make out the words. Here you can. BRAVO. There’s a maturity and professionalism here you cannot get in children’s choirs. Why talk about sin and the pain of living and hopes for redemption, when you have barely begun to live?
Still makes me cry every time. Fortunately this sublime piece of music survived through the centuries. That was effective PR from the Catholic Church indeed. Thanks to the nice group of Danes who interpret this masterpiece through their souls.
Beautiful workmanship, miraculous, a feast for the spirit and soul contemplating the Passion of Jesus our only Savior. Forever for the glory of God the Father in the Holy Trinity
I must have listened to this 20 times and I shall listen again over the past 2 months. Thank you Ars Nova. You have created a very special gift for us.
I love Arabic music and poetry from mant middle eastern nations. I am waiting for the next genre to take hold in western societies; firmly believe the "Arabian Embrace" is just around the corner!
Listen to this wonderful music as a testimony of european culture. Nevertheless lots of modern german people complain Europe and specially Germany has no such culture. They should listen and study carefully instead of being ridiculous. Such wonderful music is a gift. Not to respect and honour such tradition only tells us, that some modern people are deaf and blind!
Who says Germany doesn’t have culture? Austria is where Mozart came from... he famously misbehaved and wrote down the music of Miserere after hearing it once at the Sistine Chapel
im not a religious man by any stretch of the imagination but when i think of the complexity in the design of the human body to produce sounds like this, it makes me question my atheism
What a wonderful choir! Superbly well drilled by their conductor, fantastic intonation and diction, the top C is secure as you like and they have the perfect kind of rawness in the cadence chords so appropriate to this style of music. Highly impressive!!!
I got the police knock at my door in Australia at 4.25!In the morning! They were just smiling! They said!Who're these angels! But put a knock down! Your next door busting us!God bless them!
YOUR OWN "CHRISTMAS STORY" IS NOW MINE AS WELL. HYSTERICAL AND UPLIFTING. THANKS FOR SHARING. Imagine MM played simultaneously in every square in every major city across the world? Over loud speakers. An ode to those who've past and those still suffering from COVID 19, 20.......Prayers, my Lord to thee, please breath your compassion into the hearts of all. In Jesus Chriat we pray. Amen.
Miserere mei, Deus: secundum magnam misericordiam tuam. Et secundum multitudinem miserationum tuarum, dele iniquitatem meam. Amplius lava me ab iniquitate mea: et a peccato meo munda me. Asperges me hysopo, et mundabor: lavabis me, et super nivem dealbabor. Auditui meo dabis gaudium et laetitiam: et exsultabunt ossa humiliata. Averte faciem tuam a peccatis meis: et omnes iniquitates meas dele. Cor mundum crea in me, Deus: et spiritum rectum innova in visceribus meis. Ne proiicias me a facie tua: et spiritum sanctum tuum ne auferas a me. Redde mihi laetitiam salutaris tui: et spiritu principali confirma me.
+homiertcw It takes more than extreme dedication to obtain that level of skill, she is truly gifted. Heard countless performances of this piece, but this woman delivered that B5 note and the ornamentation's surrounding it, with such accuracy and pristine sound, that it completely demolished all other renditions, imho.
This is a brilliant, shining, recording. What ingredients - transformative composition, wonderful singers, and Paul Hillier conducting, it couldn't be anything less than beautiful!
Glorious! Reminiscent of Gregorian Chant -- well what a surprise?! The difference is the addition of female voices. This is a wonderful blend of all voices! Bravo!
GOD SPEAKES TO US IN A SMALL AND INNER VOICE. THERE IS NO NEED TO BLAST THE WINDOWS OUT. YOU HAVE THE WRONG APPROACH BECAUSE YOU WANT THE MUSIC TO COME TO YOU RATHER THAN YOU COME TO THE MUSIC. TURN THE MUSIC DOWN AND YOUR SOUL TURNED UP.
@@ronwalker4849 Pipe down! Nowhere did he say anything you try to lecture him about. Even if you want to lecture him about something you so urgently want to give away, you can always do it with manners.
Maestro, congratulations on such a beautiful performance. We wish that he can come with his choir to our festival in Costa Rica. January -2021. welcome! "Telar de voces" - International Choir Festival
Recently listened to this in the music class (still online) and yep. Such a song caught me shook and might be addicted to this amazing melody.(My ears are so blessed for this)
Very well done, I like so much the song that my eyes get wet through out even in full versions like this one. Tenebrae choir's rendition is my favorite, shorter, with an outstanding soprano.
This is superb. Listening without watching the recording focuses on the notes a bit more. The man at the back appears to be doing this. This is sublime, and the soprano's voice is heavenly.
Fills the soul! Moved to tears! Our choir at Our Lady Queen of the Americas sang this on Good Friday! I am a 1st sop, but Hanna's note is so perfect--something to which to aspire for sure! Thank you for sharing this stunning piece!
Have mercy on me, God, in accord with your merciful love; in your abundant compassion blot out my transgressions. Thoroughly wash away my guilt; and from my sin cleanse me. For I know my transgressions; my sin is always before me. Against you, you alone have I sinned; I have done what is evil in your eyes So that you are just in your word, and without reproach in your judgment. Behold, I was born in guilt, in sin my mother conceived me. Behold, you desire true sincerity; and secretly you teach me wisdom. Cleanse me with hyssop, that I may be pure; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. You will let me hear gladness and joy; the bones you have crushed will rejoice. Turn away your face from my sins; blot out all my iniquities. A clean heart create for me, God; renew within me a steadfast spirit. Do not drive me from before your face, nor take from me your holy spirit. Restore to me the gladness of your salvation; uphold me with a willing spirit. I will teach the wicked your ways, that sinners may return to you. Rescue me from violent bloodshed, God, my saving God, and my tongue will sing joyfully of your justice. Lord, you will open my lips; and my mouth will proclaim your praise. For you do not desire sacrifice or I would give it; a burnt offering you would not accept. My sacrifice, O God, is a contrite spirit; a contrite, humbled heart, O God, you will not scorn. Treat Zion kindly according to your good will; build up the walls of Jerusalem. Then you will desire the sacrifices of the just, burnt offering and whole offerings; then they will offer up young bulls on your altar.
@@celesteduqueruiz9399 Es tal cual el salmo 50 o 51 según la versión bíblica que consultes. "Misericordia, Dios Mio por tu bondad, por tu inmensa compasión borra mi culpa... " No hay más.
OMG!!! I first heard this piece of music about 10 years ago, and instantly fell in love with it. I can honestly say that this is the best interpretation I have heard yet! I am a fan of all kinds of music, as long as it touches my heart in some way. This one knocked it for six! Beautiful!
Josip Radić They do have a couple performances where their basses have sung a B1 on stage. But yeah, having deeper basses would be nice (though oktavists are as rare as they come).
