Damn, this show and Skins were my damn life in my early teens. I really hope you guys continue this! I remember watching Game of Thrones and when Ramsay came along I was just like 'hey, that's Simon from Misfits!'.

Chav basically means a “ghetto” person C.H.A.V. - Council Housed And Violent. It’s considered pretty derogatory, just like ghetto But I love this show so much & I really hope you guys continue.

Chav isn't an acronym, that's a myth. It probably originally comes from a Romany word "chavo" for "boy" or "young man".

Fariko Wishless I’m actually not sure if it started as an acronym, (there are people who would argue that chav comes from Romani words: chavi/chavo - male child, shavo - female child, chavvy - friend), but I think the acronym is generally pretty accepted. I’ve even seen people say it’s actually Council Housing Associated Vermin. Either way, it’s not a good word to call someone lol.

I really hope you guys continue watching this. One of my favourite shows of all time. If you don't get any references to British culture or slang, don't be afraid to research. This show has a special place in my heart because it was filmed in my home town Thamesmead. Much respect 🙌 P.S I've already noticed you started to pick up on it but yes powers in this show are linked to the characters greatest insecurity or memories

"I feel like the Game of Thrones casting director definitely watched this show." That raises an interesting Misfits/Game of Thrones trivia point, it was during the making of this very season (Misfits, S1) that Iwan Rheon was in the running to be cast as Jon Snow--very, very close to being cast, actually. (In fact, that detail and followed by him not being cast by the time S2 is underway had a big effect on how the Misfits storyline develops....)

All the powers are related to their personalities: the outcast gets invisibility, the disgraced athlete can reverse time (undo mistakes) etc.

the "power" they get is like an expansion of their emotions/ personality. kelly is insecure so she can read minds, simon is a loner so he is invisible and so forth. that's what makes this show interesting, to see new powers from different people

I'm so happy now that y'all are watching this show i got this series for my 16 bday I'm 21 now and i watch misfits every year for my bday. Finally someone besides my family and me watches misfits this is in my top 5 favorite shows for sure Nathan and Simmon are my favorite in the first 3 seasons then i like another 2 characters later

One thing I always hate about people reacting to Misfits these days is that if they do it legally they'll never watch it with the original music. Misfits payed so much attention to its soundtrack, that changing the songs seems almost blasphemous. Lonely Souls by U.N.K.L.E. should've been playing during the introspective scene after the gang buries the bodies, instead of the generic song that ended up playing. Hate that they don't have the rights to use the right songs in the US.
