I LOVE THIS CUP. I can’t wait to make one! Oh and .... You can use a watercolor erasable colored pencil. The fibercastel and prismacolor brands work the best when it comes to fully dissolving the pigment in the pencil strokes with the paint!
WOW THE COLORS CAUGHT MY EYE BEAUTIFUL I WOULD have switched the purple and pink and the green and blue myself, just my personal preference ♡ to make blue and Purple dominant
Thank You! Yes I kept the colors this way because when I paint the other colors blend together and make the green and purple... so it just fit! To make certain colors dominant you can always do larger brush strokes :)
Lisa Waitt so sorry! I have a toddler and 2 teenagers so making videos is hard lol I do have a Turf Tutorial in the works though! I got my turner off Etsy it’s simplistic but works very well :)
Hello, I'm surprised to see your video. It's really perfect and beautiful. Your efforts are not in vain. I want to know where you bought the dye. Can you tell me the name of the dye or which brand or brand
So I am confused (doesn’t take much..lol!) Did you draw the swirl on the opposite side? Probably a dumb question but I want to try doing one! Thanks for the video.
I do a few coats (about 3) of the paint because it really makes the colors pop! :) plus it helps make those mixes colors pop as well... the orange, green and purple are just made from the others overlapping :)
Courtney Rodriguez no need to spray seal acrylics so just epoxy right over it once it’s dry! Most likely you can do the second coat within an hour... the first coat just has to be dry first and acrylics dry pretty fast!
Chasati Lane The cup is covered in epoxy after the paint dries and the logo is vinyl which is a sticker and the epoxy seals it all so you can wash it! It is a hand wash only item though you wouldn’t want to put it in the dishwasher.
Great tutorial! I made one before and used a pencil to draw swirl also. Will not do that again either. I could still see it under the epoxy too. The highlighter is the perfect idea. Is there a size number on one the brush you used??
Okay so walk me through it. You sanded it? Then spray painted, added your design, then do you add your lettering? And after that how do you get it to look glossy? I’ve never made one of these and I’d love to try. I just need like a step by step of how to start and finish.
Kysa 2022 Yes sanded the stainless tumbler, then spray painted and used acrylics to paint the tie dye... after that a layer of epoxy, then vinyl, then another layer of epoxy... that is what gives the glossy finish!
Make sure you have a turner and that it’s level because the epoxy is self leveling and if your turner isn’t level it will create bumps... and then just thin layers :)
Kerry Morris if you would like to see the finished cup I have it on my Facebook group @mishellycrafts or if you have questions about how I’d love to help! The area on the back (opposite of the swirl) is really just where I thought the swirl would end up if it was flat and wrapped around the cup! Like I’ve said before though... tie dye is super forgiving and so you can wing it! (I put the name over the “back” usually to cover any imperfections)
@@MissheliM ok thanks I will look at your face book...running out to Micheals to grab paint...I have got to give this a try...I Subscribed and gave this viedo a thumbs up
This was very nice of you to show people this thanks for the share. Also if you don’t mind me asking how did you do the decal with making the name shadowed like that?
Patricia Cehrs Paint, epoxy, decal, epoxy :) the paint is a little bumpy and if you try and put the decal over it you will see every little bump in your vinyl :)
Kathy Sicuranza as you are painting the swirls if it goes off the edge on the bottom just paint the bottom a bit... I really was just winging it on the bottom because I figured it’s not the main focus of the cup. It’s not perfect but it’s painted so it kind of blends in! :)
Hey there! I got the turner on Etsy It came in pieces and I put it together. The name of the Etsy store was CraftloverByJinlong :) Hope this helps! I have also seen the same style I have for sale on Amazon!
I. Love. This. Video!!!! I have been so scared to start on a tumbler but this looks so amazing I have to try it!! What kind of spray paint did you use on your tumbler?? Thank you for sharing! Would love to see this one dried and sealed!!
Thank you Brooke! I just used Rustoleum 2x Primer + Paint! I just finished it up with decal and everything today! I also will be posting the final outcome on my Facebook page! facebook.com/MishellyCrafts
Hi Dorothy! I just did two coats of epoxy... one after the paint dried and then another after I put the decal on... I just posted the final result with decal and everything on Instagram and Facebook @mishellycrafts
Hey Chris! I started with Yellow then pink so they blend to make orange and then blue so the pink and blue make purple and where the blue and yellow meet it makes green :) So Yellow, Pink, Blue ❤️ :) Hope that helps!
Dowona Nunley sorry it’s was my first try... I don’t know what was up with it because it didn’t sound bad on my end but with everyone saying that it’s scared me from making any more lol!! Guess I’ll stick with making cups 😂 I know how to do that! ❤️
Not a stupid question at all :) the answer is yes :) it’s a stainless steel tumbler so it is good for both hot or cold! The epoxy is only on the outside so the inside is still stainless.
Your cup is too cute, but the video was faint and not real crisp and clear. It was kind of hard to see all the details. (I'm a Gemini and need details!😜lol) and couldn't hear you very well with volume all the way up. I love tye dye and especially love the colors of the rainbow (idc what they're suppose to represent now) but this cup is soooooo pretty!!!❤❤❤❤❤
