Funniest thing though is that during the "blastbeat" part of the song, ~ 1:25 - 1:37, if you remove the drums its exactly like the original first recording the song, in the 45 rpm record. Glad to see that Leo did his research before covering one of our national treasures.

Demetriades, an Ottoman Greek, was born in Istanbul, Ottoman Empire, in 1897, and he resided there until he moved to the United States in 1921,[6] during a period when most of the Greek speaking population fled the emerging Turkish state. It is likely that he was familiar with the song as a folk song before he moved to the United States. what does Link Wray have to do with this song? this was Dick Dale. well actually it was written by Theodotos Demetriades and first recorded in 1921. but Dick Dale is the one who sped it up and used the surf guitar sound.

Though the surf rock version was created by Dick Dale, Misirlou as a song existed for decades prior (in or before the 1920s), and the original author is unknown. Figured you should know. Great metal cover!
Dick Dale has been credited (at times) as the father of heavy metal. Leo Fender gifted Dale his first Stratocaster which Dale turned upside down to play lefthanded. Fender also created the first stacked amps pushing 100-watts for Dale; this lead to JBL creating more powerful speakers. Together Fender and Dale also created the reverb pedal. This is a great cover of a legendary and influential guitarist.
I don't know why none mentioned but Mirisirlou it's not has its origins form Pupl Fiction. Μυσιρλού then its a greek rebetiko song with origins of 1927. I know it wasn't rock and so cool but it has its unique beauty. Unfortunately as many songs of this kind we don't know the creator but the first recorded sing was from Μιχάλης Πατρινός

My God this is so BOSS! Straight up Satriani style, wah pedal and all. This is going in the mix with the best tracks off of "Surfing with the Alien" and my favorite Agent Orange stuff.
This is originally Dick Dale, same guy that done "Pipeline" and pretty much created surf music. Stevie Ray Vaughn and Dick have a performance of "Pipeline" together worth a watch.

When i am 1 years old the Pulp fiction in the cinemas. Many years later this music come in Taxi movie. I meet first with this song in the Taxi movie, and that always remind me that. 🤷
