What a blessing it is to have your grown children around a table studying God’s word! I am new to your channel & I praise God I found it. I am a Christian & have been for 65 years! I just don’t know how people that don’t have the Lord make it through the day!

You make a great point about feeding the Hobos! People knew the kindness of strangers and you just help. Like Phil said "it wasn't taught to them by word, it was taught to them by example and deed. You helped your neighbors if they needed help... My mom and dad got married when my mom was 15, and my dad was 17, and they had 2 babies within 2 years of being married, I came along 14 years later, she told me after I was grown that there was many times when they were young married and had 2 little ones, they would ran out of groceries and she didn;t know how they would eat, and she said she never knew exactly who left bags of groceries, she said sometimes it was the chili fixins, sometimes beans and makings for cornbread and always milk for the children...but she said there was always groceries left by the door when she needed them, and she said God answered those prayers she asked because she never wanted her babies to go to bed hungry... we live in a town in Ohio of 27,000 people and you walk down the streets, and you NEVER see a sign of life in many homes. The drapes are tightly drawn in the windows, and the people NEVER sit out on their porch and "talk" across the street. I think you are right when you say people aren't trusting or even scared of neighbors.. Don;t even KNOW THEIR NAMES.... We are fortunate, my husband is 66 and I am 63, and we live on on a block of older people, we have 8 homes and we know everyones names, and there is a widower and the widow that lives across the street makes "extra" home cooking and take him food. With just my husband and I, I often make extra and take it over to our 45 year old bachelor neighbor...
We love you Mrs.Kay and so glad your feeling better and I just wanted tell you that I look up to you . God set me free from a lot of addiction and I am so thankful to watch a family have so much fun just being real and hard working and most importantly loving Jesus . My Grandma did the same thing..she also lived near the r.r.tracks that ran through the middle of her home where i was born..she would feed them and talk to them about Jesus❤❤❤❤
When I wa growing up,Our preacher of the Baptist Church would go every Sunday to eat supper at the house of the church members familys. This was considered a honour when it came your turn. You got a lot of extra preaching. Our preaching would eat a giant meal,of fried chicken,. corn on the cob, mashed potatoes, green beans, home made bread. My mom use to joke that was all he ate into the next Sunday families turn. He would preach a few words and down the road he 'd go..Ahh the good ole days. people back 50 years ago who had nothing and nothing to eat were great full for help from kind people like Kay and Phil's mothers. they weren't out to rob them and cause trouble, they were just thankful people cared enough to help. a completely different world back then.

My wife and I live in Florida. We drove to west Monroe had our picture taken under their iconic duck commander sign. We drove by Willie’s home ( we think)we drove to Phil’s gate where he said as he is cleaning his AR “ you come through these gates I will either lead you to the LORD or send you to him, it’s up to you” lol we turned around. We didn’t see any of them. But you know they do so much for wounded warriors and others. We are good.

Mrs. Kay hearing you talk about your grandma feeding the hobos made me remember my grandma doing the same. She fed hobos an anyone who came to her door. I’m so glad your feeling better. ❤
It's been a blessing to see Jase grow in love and affection and tenderness towards his parents. Not to say he didn't have any before, but I notice a growth and change. It's a blessing to see men become more like Christ just as even in his older age, brother Phil is learning, even now, how to love and serve his wife in a way he has never had to. It's a testament of Christ in them. Praise and glory to our God!
