Ah her crazy & unstable younger twin brother. But not as powerful like her older twin sister M'Gann when she entered his hideout & attacked his followers for a fit of rage from a misunderstanding thought he put Kryptonite poison in his bomb not knowing it was tampered by a time traveler...
Hi Nation the white marsians aren't exactly the friendliest batch. They started a war with the green Marianas, who were pacifists, for a very long time and tried to either take control or destroy Earth a few times. It's no wonder they aren't entirely well liked.
How the fuck does "HI Nation"'s comment have thumbs up? That implies that all white people are racist towards all black people - and that's the biggest load of racist shit I've ever read. The Martian situation is in no way analogous to any races on Earth you fucknugget.
To quote Mystique in X2, when questioned why she doesn't just use her shapeshifting to blend in with humans permanently- "We shouldn't have to." Yeah, the White Martians *could* just shapeshift into Green Martians and appear as them for the rest of their life, but that shouldn't have to be the case to begin with. They were born as White Martians and, unless they happen to identify more as Green, being a White Martian is their core identity and nothing can change that. Sure, it makes life easier for them, but having to essentially wear a mask all the time isn't at all ideal. Just ask the thousands of homosexual people who were made to feel the need to pretend to be heterosexual or outright *forced* to be heterosexual. No words can describe how awful that is...
As far as alien heroines go, I find Megan to be the most inspiring. She grew up in a life full of rejection and hatred, just because she was a white martian. Starfire's past is tragic but at least she wasn't hated by her own people
Agreed! But poor Blackfire was hated by her own people for similar reasons Miss Martian was. True, Blackfire is evil, but her own people hated her simply due to her physical looks long before she became evil. In fact, I think constant rejection of her own people plus her own jealousy of her much more popular and beloved sister was what turned her evil.
Well I don't know her in the comics, but in tv show I found her very manipulative and disliked her by that, also find Starfire life a lot worse, yes white martians were discriminated, but she still had a caring and loving family to support her, Starfire was made a slave, regularly tortured, raped, experimented and the worst her own sister was the responsible and her family never did nothing to help her.
sadlobster1 i disagree, Starfire was hated by her own blood sibling and was put through LITERALLY HELL, she had no body else but her sister. Megan went through some hell too, but atleast her parents and siblings loved her
By siblings, do you mean Gar? Besides that, M'Gaan's got one pro over Star. Despite being a fish out of water, M'Gaan learned about earth through shared video broadcasts sent to Mars. Star has been on earth for how long and yet still talks like a door and has little to no clue about how things work here. Plus, she finds Raven's destructive behavior toward BB as "appealing/acceptable." Whereas M;Gaan actually treats Gar like a brother; with respect and love
both of Miss Martian origin theories, seems to fit perfectly fine with me, bcuz for her being a white martian, she wanted to get away from all the hurtful words that the green Martians keep saying, and when Martian manhunt said he was looking for a sidekick, she found her opportunity to escape mars.
Kinda find it funny how, after batman brings Robin into the fold, that ALL the other leaguers just collectively decided "I want one too". And just became more open to taking in any kid they found.
Image is one of my favorite episodes because there’s so many layers to it. You see Miss Martian’s psyche on display and all of her insecurities. You see Psimon try to exploit those to win a battle. But he pushed too hard. She was clearly desperate to conceal herself and he kept taunting and prodding and had her backed up like a wounded lion. The best part is when he said “you’d love to keep that secret won’t you?” And she goes “that’s right” voice still quivering but turning noticeably sharp. He’s scared and wants to calm her by saying you don’t want to be hasty but she’s already been pushed and she mind warps him “you don’t know me at all!” clearly we didn’t.
@caitlyncarvalho7637 I can see it make sense but they already have Halo and Fred Bugg as much more explicit metaphors. I think Miss Martian struggles are closer to ethnicity and that insecurity than anything else.
@Caitlyn Carvalho I got notified that you responded to me but I don't see the comment anymore. But to elaborate, I did say that Fred Bugg and Halo were more explicit metaphors for trans people than Miss Martian, not necessarily better. The more explicit part comes from the fact that in season 4 Fred reveals himself to his classmates during graduation and talks about his transformation and being out and proud. But it's a little clunkier than Halo who explicitly says in season 3 that she is neither male or female in soul as a motherbox being and that she's only inheriting a female body. She had a brief moment with Brionne where she asked if it was okay and he played the part of accepting boyfriend well. In regards to Miss Martian, the thing she was trying to conceal was her skin color, not her biological sex (if that's even a distinction amongst the martians). The white martians and the green martians look the exact same to the human eye and are even shape shifters but have this weird prejudice around natural skin color. You can see gendered variations of white martians and green martians and the numbers are way more numerous. Plus her brother's trope as a terrorist mimics the path many marginalized young men take against their oppressors if they get radicalized. It seems a lot more racial/cultural than gendered.
I always thought that when Mars was destroyed in flame Martian manhunter and miss Martian where the only ones left so j'ohn took her in putting aside their differences to preserve what was left of there planet I have no clue where I got this idea from or if it even has any truth at all
Comics can have different storylines since they can be written by different people. Think of it as alternate timelines. For instance, I heard that in some versions of DC Comics White Martians was a warmongering clan of Martians who were in conflict with the more Peaceful Green Martians rather than White being prejudiced by Green, there was even mention of Yellow Martians.
as to Martian Manhunter likely being aware, Martians have a tendency to avoid reading the minds of other martians. though since this was mentioned in the justice league cartoon, it might not hold any water in Young Justice.
she did in fact sneak on the bishop to earth because she bonded with her bioship and martian manhunter states on numerous occasions she has the strongest telepathic mind he's ever seen
Old post, I know, but: before 1986, the Martians were portrayed as a thriving people. After 1986 (Crisis on Infinite Earths), J'onn was given a tragic backstory as the last of his kind, even though his powers already made him too similar to Superman, but with the twist that he lost his people as a grown man with a wife and kids, instead of as a baby too young to remember his world. Eventually, it was explained that the only other surviving Green Martian was a psychopath and responsible to wiping out his own people. The creators of Young Justice decided to go with the Pre-Crisis, "Mars is still alive" backstory to make him more distinct from Superman, and play up how much of an outcast M'gann is amongst her fellow Martians, being too kind for her fellow White Martians and discriminated against by the Green Martian ruling class, while Supergirl went with the tragic "all the Green Martians are dead" backstory to set up J'onn as a father figure to the Danvers sisters since both his kids were girls and reimagined the warmongering White Martians, the Green Martians' arch enemies from the comics, as being responsible for wiping them out.
Wondered about the origin of this character but never really watched the series, thanks for sharing the two popular beliefs (it seems both were written about it).
Miss Martian did not store away cuz when Martian Manhunter brought her to the Young Justice he said this is my niece instead of sending her back he brought her to the Young Justice.
In season 4 I believe she says that Martian Manhunter was supposed to bond to Bio-Shop (the one we know) and leave for his last trip to earth but M’fan bonded with Bio-Ship first so that she would let M’gann stow away on the ship to earth
A theory I have is that she had gone into the competition, and was close to winning, but had lost. Feeling that she still deserves to go and her loosing was an accident, she escaped to Earth.
So, she's real messed-up, kind of a liar to her friends, and in some ways a coward at that; hiding in disguise for something she's not- granted, she was treated horribly... but her own choices are the only things that can truly do her any harm at all.
I think neither are true but Miss Martian believes it to be true. I did my share of research on DC Martians. For the most part White Martians are depicted as warmongers who have been hunting their peaceful Green counterparts to near extinction. If "Young Justice" ends up using that depiction in the upcoming season, then I'd say that Miss Martian did not agree with the ways of her people and fled to live with the Green Martians, using her psychic abilities to erase her and re-arrange some of her memories. She may not have even altered her memories consciously, since she was initially shown to have a lack of control of her abilities when her emotions get the better of her. Given the events that depicted her raw psychic power in "Failsafe" and how she destroyed the minds of her enemies without considering the consequences in season 2 it seems like a possibility. She may have been a trained White Martian assassin before leaving her home world.
The number of times she has lied and worse how she has tried to wipe the minds of people who know she has done something bad makes me not trust a word she says to be honest,
Legit, she's a disturbed individual. Her very beginning on the show was pretty fucked: shapeshifting, hiding her true form, trying to seduce someone from a vastly different species. It's creepy, and her insecurities are so bad that she brain-blasts people to protect herself.
Given their physical differences, why is Miss M attracted to superboy? That'd be like a human wanting to fuck a horse. Imagine shape-shifting so that you could seduce the horse, giving yourself fake flesh that doesn't reflect your biology at all. You'd be like a biological flashlight. There is nothing okay about any of this
So, in Clark's cousin's storyline, there was some form of a race-war on Mars, a few hundred years ago, and that's why "Megan's" uncle fled to Earth... and it precipitated genocide on a global scale it seems.
How the fuck do they even have racism if those OP aliens can shapeshift into fucking anything? Want to be white? Nice. Want to be green? Nice. Want to be a banana? Double nice
As the person above has said, they can read minds and like many young characters who are portrayed with powers (I mean babies, infants and young children) they probably wouldn't learn to shapeshift properly or for prolonged amounts of time until they were older. They also might not immediately understand why Greens and possibly Reds treated them differently until they were older. By which point, most Martians would know who they were and the fact that they were White and not Green.
it's stupid how she lied she is a White Martian and she said they both of Her Parents are Green LIE her Mother was Green her Father was White all of her Siblings are Green except for one Brother
It matters to her and the people on Mars, because she suffered basically racism on Mars so if she had the chance to make herself green of course she would
Make a video about the Robbins. We see 2 of them in Young Justice, does that mean that the Joker already killed the second and we will have a Red Hood?
Jason Todd is dead in YJ. You can see him in the shrine for the fallen. Tim is Robin during Season 2 and Dick is Robin during season 1 and later Nightwing.
Maybe she DID become Martian man hunters sidekick but he had advised her to stay on earth for maybe training for what will happened on earth like how to control her powers and how to interact with objects or such and maybe she didn’t want to wait longer so she snuck on board anyways but how in the world would Martian man hunter not know where she is cause idk *UNCLE SENSES!*
The green martians should be ashamed of themselves. Miss Martian can do "Radio Telepathy", and John Jones said that, her psychic powers are stronger than he's
What i wanna know about YJ, is how at the end of Season 1 you have got the heroes we know and love, and then all of a sudden, first episode of season 2 invites a whole lot of characters that we know nothing about? Apart from BB, but is there an explanation for this or do we need to just presume that the YJ League needed some help while all the JL Heroes were under the influence of the bio chip and their helpers ended up joining after the threat subsided. If you could make a video about that, that would be great!
first of all their not called the "YJ league" and the reason we has a lot of characters in season 2 because there was a 5 year time skip, and the plan was to explain what happened in the time skip in the comics but we only saw some of it since it got cancelled
Miss Martian's true identity and possible presence and past is very similar to Jon's, and given Jon's length of true history on earth and his many other identities in earth history she herself is possible a bit different in her own original history? Miss Martian's is an engma but is her true nature that is the only question are green & white that different I do recall that there's a third martian race which left because of the mental abilities and mind altering powers were so much more powerful and they were reddish green let this changed to purple, Jenn was the result of these martians after a thousand years I believe? And I think Martians have been on earth and around the known universe of dc universe far longer the true origins and home world isn't Mars Jon did once say his true origins of his people were even a mystery to him but Darkside said of his people they weren't to be trusted why?
I think its her half-assed effort to embrace her real self . Everyone already know her true form so its kot necessary. She could just stayed as Hello Megan.
@@Azam9947 Unfortunately Young Justice is under the propaganda control of: Express yourself, Be who you are, Choose your sexuality... I really hope in Season 4 DC gets to polish everything that has happened in Season 3 and before, because there definitely are a lot of unfinished things there. They've made Aqualad gay sadly.. I can take it as long as they don't mess any other important characters.
I am so confused...her "true form" is green 3:25 but she is a white martian...but she can shapeshift into green...why is there a race ideal about colour when you can switch colour at will. she even spends time on Mars being green so how are they to know the difference...and she is related to Manhunter so how fast does the genetic go pure white from green? like is it not even possible to have a lime martian?
The Artist Of War her true form is white, the green one was her hiding her true self. But yes it is irrelevant when you can change colour, which I guess is the point, it's most likely a metaphor for stupid racism is
In my opinion I think that since martian manhunter did not allowed ms martian to join the tournament after she won he did not allowed her to come to Earth so she hid in a ship the was going to earth
