I kinda like the idea not all of them joining. They already had unstable lifestyles, throwing superhero work into it wouldn't be wise. Shows just because a person has superpowers doesn't mean they're superhero material.
All super heroes are emotionally unstable. That's how they ended up with the job. Look at Bats and Superman. Bats watched both his parents die, in completely unable to form lasting romantic relationships, and has the worst trust issues known to man. Superman is the last of his kind, also an orphan, also lost his father, and also had a really, really rough up bringing. Seething with issues is the super hero code.
They wanted to, however due to legal situation (or something) Static Shock was unable to use Black Lightning hence why they created Soul Power for the episode.
@@ulyssesdenice5071 that is cool, but it wolud have been better if he wasnt an argentinean then (argentinean dont look like spike-mexican, and dont have that strange spanish accent. XD)
@@MelaniAlarcon XD well. Alot of the Rumaways besides Virgil has their flaws in regards to that. Not like you can blame them because they never really had much to work with for the other three, in fact outside of Virgil, they had to make Tye, Ed and Asami from scratch. And given this was 2013, I don't really know if cultural advicers and sensitivity readers/watchers were a thing for animated tv shows, especially for characters who, only appeared in a handful of episodes and never really came back for Season 3 besides Virgil who was already a member of the Young Justice Team and Ed who was heavily involved in the plot. So I can imagine since they probably didn't have anyone of the other three's distinct backgrounds to rely on when making the characters, they had to work with what they had and what they could scrape together, including other influences like Spike and various elements of American Street fashion like Punk and Skater culture, especially with the latter. I mean, they're literal skaters. So ofcourse there'd be some heaby influence from the skater scene. I can understand Virgil as he has literally had alot of pre-existing material to work with, including a tv show of his own from the early 2000's. But the others were completely unique to the show and didn't have any sort of inspiration outside of being a reworking of the Superfriends. As so, they really didn't have much to work on. Believe me, if you think Ed, Tye and Asami are kinda flawed for their attempt at a outdated superhero rework. Look, they certainly got alot of stuff right, but at the same time, for everything they got right, there was quite a few things they missed the boat on. But looking at the original superheroes they're reworks of? Um....let's just say it's an improvement. A very, very major improvement. Trust me, you do not wanna see what the original Superfriends looked like. If you do, I have to warn you, it's the cringiest of cringe like no other ever created by a human being. It. Was. BAD. Then again, not much to expect from the 70's. Especially when it came to some pretty ambitious characters when it came to diversity. Atleast at the time. Then again, 70's. 70's was a weird ass time in general when it came to, pretty much everything.
@@ulyssesdenice5071 well, that wasnt the problen in my opinion. My problem was with "El Dorado" character (only in Young Justice) being "Argentinean" (im argentinean), BUT he speaks like some random dude from SPAIN and looks like a Mexican. I mean, ¡dude! we Argentineans are mostly white people with light brown hair, and look like italians! even our accent is italian! XD LOL! but i cant blame americans, they think we all latinos look like mexicans, LOL
I think that the fact that everyone except static didn't join is because they had problems back home and were afraid of that happening in the team around them
Static Shock, Icon, Rocket been out since the early 90's under Milestone comics Dakotaverse, I like how Dc is reintroducing them. The other four runaways seem pretty new. I like the diverse background of the characters.
This is an old comment but I'm adding a reply to help get this video further. Long Shadow is actually a reimagining of a character that appeared in the 70's cartoon Super Friends, the same that the Wonder Twins did
+Joel U. they are, well except for static, i did think of saying that in the bios but i decided against it since this was about them in the young justice universe not the creation of the characters by the young justice writers, but well done for noticing :)
@@MelaniAlarcon Blame Hollywood and the American education system. In their minds everyone south of the US border is brown skinned. You can actually see this a lot in American media, for example the character of Ava starr a.k.a Ghost in Ant-Man and the Wasp, she is supposed to be from Argentina but she looks like your stereotypical Latina with tanned skin. It honestly sucks that this is recurring thing as you know the fact that Argentina is 95% white with mainly being of Spanish and Italian ancestry is actually really unique and interesting and Argetinos are known to have a very unique look and accent (personally the Argentine dialect is my favorite Spanish dialect as it sounds absolutely beautiful).
@@kingjonstarkgeryan8573 im so glad someone (non argentiean) knows that, that i colud cry right now T_T really. Its like: ¡dude! the Pope Francis, The Queen of Netherlands, even the director of IT are Argentineans and white! :¨(
Correct, While his Young Justice incarnation has a different origin than his original "Bang Baby" origin that was maintained in the Justice League stories, he is basically the same character. Here's hoping we get to see more of his in the new Season 3.
Lets' see, the Runaways seem to be farmed from the Super Friends, Virgil: Black Vulcan, Edwardo: El Dorado, Long Shadow: Indian Chief, And the Japanese girl was Samarui
Marvels got the real runaways...this was like a bootleg version or maybe even some sort of inside joke like how marvel has a speedster named Buried Alien(Barry Allen).
You forgot the most intersting aspect of the characters: The main members are all based on the so called "diversity heroes' of the 70's "Superfriends". Apache Cheif (who could grow giant), Eldorado (who had various magical powers) and Samari (who had wind powers). You also kind of say they brought in Static to fill in for Black Vulcan who, himself, was a fill in for Black Lightening becasue the show didn't want to pay his creator to use him on the origional animated series. Funny how things go full circle sometimes.
I like this how they are characters from diffrent dc comics and then brought together and made a team i love static from the comics and his spinoff animated tv show. I also like how longshadow can project an astral form instead of just growing big like giganta. Cant wait to see more of them in season 3 if the others apear cause only static has really been mentioned for season e but cameos of the others would be nice
The Runnaways need to be reunited in season 3 Young Justice is the BEST cartoon show out so glad it's back I will support and help keep it going forever 💯
The 4 runaways remind me of the Super Friends characters. Static is like Black Vulcan Tye is like Apache chief Sam is like Samurai And Ed jr. is like El Dorado
except from static shock they are updated version of the racist stereo types of the members of the superfriends. now justice league unlimited did a similar episodes
Funny enough as outdated as those characters are now, they seem to have a special place in a lot of people's hearts with this and Justice League Unlimited doing versions of them and the action figure line even doing figures for most or all of them.
Would be nice to bring someone like Bunker from the comics. As a Green Lantern type character could help, if they needed a powerhouse. Not to mention, Hal could use a sidekick.
It's similar since the AU has done this before, During the Cadmus Arc in JL: Unlimited. They redid the Samurai, Wonder Twins, Apache Chief, and Black Vulcan. Along with adding Power Girl to there team. I hope that they do this again in future Animated releases but this time also adding El Dorado.
I was hoping that a) there would be more than just 2 seasons of Young Justice, and b) that is going to lead to a 'back door' reboot of a show with Static in it. I always liked that character.
Never thought of that, just another reason to be so disappointed at a missed opportunity. I really hope CN revisits this show somewhere in the near future. This and Symbiotic Titian.
The Young Justice Showrunner Greg Weisman has been running a campaign for months now to get people to watch Young Justice on Netflix to show them it's popular enough that they should greenlight a 3rd season like they did with various other shows.
I wonder if they'll introduced static in the new black lightning show on cw maybe like flash in after a few seasons static will show up I want to see how their relationship will be in that setting
Actually electricity is a form of magnetic energy, or more properly known as electromagnetic energy. Magnetic energy and electric energy are related by Maxwell's equations. - complements of Wikipedia. I'll let someone with a better grasp of physics take it from there.
Electrostatics is not "more powerful;" it's just the study of electric fields and the associated forces in a stable, unchanging, stationary state. Changing electric fields generate magnetic fields; changing magnetic fields generate electric fields. Since Static _alters_ electric fields, he must also be generating magnetic fields.
I blame his mother dump the dude he was a jerk although teens can be jerks as well. Your kid should come before any boyfriend. Child labor laws would have a field day with that Doctor.
Three of these four are Homages to characters from the Saturday morning Cartoons "Super Friends" on ABC in the late 70s-mid 80s. Ty Longshadow, is based on 'Apache Chief', Ed Dorado Jr. Is based on 'El Dorado', Asami Koizumi is based on the character 'Samurai'
He was the human form of Neutron, from the episode that introduced Impulse / Kid Flash II. They never go into if his powers were just neutralized by Impulse or can now be controlled.
I really liked all the characters and this made me like static more than I did also asami I think that's her name was really cool but I wanted them to develop her power more because it just seemed she just flung herself around
to put it in way its just minus the evil parents, the psychic dinosaur, one incredibly strong eleven year old, a giant frog, giant evil Gods( * GIBORIM *),a girl from the 1807,teen romance drama, an lesbian alien that can glow, an alien that can shape shift(gender), time travel, saved the world three times, met and worked for the Avengers, every issue a plot twist that one of the members die and gets replaced by a much cooler one, a sarcastic fat chick with a time traveling parents and has a purple hair who i have a really big crush on, a traitor of a bitch, a Gothic Asian lady thats kinda BAD ASS, a cyborg that was a son of a really big bad guy, a blond dumb ass but one hell of a pilot,.but hey its up to you to decide i mean they only copied the name and the Japanese character minus the english and the magic but then again thats just my opinion :)
I'm showing my age here. I remember Challenge of the Super Friends, were I first seen these characters. Apache Chief, El Dorado, Samurai, and Black Vulcan was the names they used for them in that show, and Samurai was a male; however, the powers are what the new characters powers a based on.
I think they were a great way to bring Static Shock back into the show after so many people wanted him to make a comeback since his old TV series went down, but was set to be cannon in the DC universe
something I felt you did not point out is that 3 of the members were also referances to the old politicly incorrect JL members from the old superfriends. Asami = Samurai, Tai Longshadow is both the Longshadow from JLU show who in turn was a referance to Apache Chief, static and Black Lightining are both a referance to Black Vulcan. ed seems to be more or less riginal but i could be wrong.
I don't think these character ever took it as an official title, it was just what most of them were. I don't think they formed a team proper or had a team name.
They are just rebooted lesser members of the old Superfriends cartoons.:Apache Chief, Black Vulan, Samuar, and Azrek or El Dorado ( I forget the character's actual name).
1. How do you make your videos? 2. What computer program do you use? 3. How do you put picture from the internet and computer scream recordings in one video? 4. How do you record bits form cartoons and videos on the Internet like you did with Young Justice? 5. Will it cost me money and how much? 6. I what to do it too. 7. Every ones doing it but me so I'm ether going to cry or get angry. I'm already frustrated about it. 8. Please help me. I'm slowly losing me Sanity. I don't want to loss my mind like the guy who beat Jason to death with a crowbar.
so I'm assuming Thai longshadow it's supposed to be Apache chief and what about the kid with the last name El Dorado because there's a hero from the Justice friends I think called El Dorado
Not gonna lie, Asami was my show crush... Also, is AsamixTye canon or just fanfiction, I know it’s on the wiki but that’s a fan made wiki and was never shown in canon (atleast on the show that i’ve seen)
Im argentinean and Alberto Dorado looks more like a mexican XD, also "dorado" its not a surname we never heard here. It would be more realistic if it was an italian surname, but its ok, lol XDD
@@mxvids9167 that is not the problem, the problem is HIS APPEREANCE AND ACCENT XD Argentineans look like italians, they are white and have also italian accent, the concept its tooo far away of that mexican design :(
