This continental/regional system of parade of nations is the one the pageant started doing by the late 80s and throughout the 90s. They used to just present the candidates alphabetically (it's back to this system since early 2000s), until 1989. They corrected Iceland's grouping, and even in the early 90s there were very few grouping errors, but they basically got it right after 1989. Miss USA even had their grouping errors. About the Mediterranean countries, they just made a grouping of them with the middle east, it doesn't mean they are saying those Mediterranean countries are in the middle east. But technically some Mediterranean countries are in the middle east and are not Mediterranean Europe, they are Mediterranean Western Asian countries (Turkey, Lebanon, Israel, etc). It's clear they made a "Mediterranean / Middle East / Africa" group because the number of candidates from each of these are small.
@@dinoamparo6363not really. The Northern Marianas (and Guam). are in the Pacific Ocean, not the Caribbean Sea. And Mauritius is in the Indian Ocean. In any case the grouping was correct because it was called The Islands.
Completamente de acuerdo Sergio. En 1977 recuerdo un opening muy alegre también en la República Dominicana, donde ganó Jeanelle P. Comissiong, Miss Trinidad & Tobago. ¿No se si lo viste? Pero esta canción de Arrow. en el Miss Universo 1989, es inolvidable.

el del 2007 una porqueria total, la mu elegida(ryo mori) muy simplona al lado de la gran angela visser, sin duda la calidad del certamen incluida la de sus candidatas se ha ido perdiendo a lo largo de los años...esta es la mejor edicion hecha en mexico
El mejor opening de la historia xD debió ser super divertido para todas, cuando las misses tenían bellezas reales de cada región no como ahora que parecen del mismo molde
el gallinero jajaja no vale el opening fue muy movido humoristico y muy distinto al protocolo pero salio muy bien de hecho en el 2001 volverian con ese formato las mas batidas la colombiana y turkas y caicos un año muy interesante
Cada concurso refleja un poquito del sabor del país anfitrión en sus opening, escenografías y filmaciones en paisajes espectaculares de cada región. Verdad fue muy movido pero me parece que debieron hacer las presentaciones formales de antes hubiese quedado mejor.

Worst opening of any pageant in recorded history. The dizzying, bouncing heads and contestants simply screaming the names of their country made me sea sick.
Galileocan g Aww come on, they're a bunch of sexy women dancing on stage, having the best time, screaming to the song " Hot Hot Hot." Doesn't that make you get up and dance like a chicken with it's head chopped off. I love this opening. It's HOT ! 😱😱😈😈.
