@@nathaliegaribay3655 Miss Universe 2016 was held on January 30, 2017. Then, Miss Universe 2017 was held in November 27,2017. A total of only 10 months of reign for Iris.

she represented very well what france and a european beauty queen really is: absolutely regal, elegant, well-educated and most of all charitable. she is a working queen; she really does her job and gets the job done. the europeans may not have the flirty and bubbly beauty of the latinas, but they have a beauty that is so delicate and pure. plus, they really dedicate themselves in serving the people. they really are hardworking when it comes to charities. IRIS fulfilled excellently her responsibility given the very short amount time for her reign. others have almost 1 year but have not done anything. SHAME on those who think that european representatives in the Miss U are weak contenders.
Queen Iris is my favorite Miss Universe she is so humble, simple and beautiful!!So sad because her reign was so short, she deserved more time to show her charity and her work with Smile Train!!i Love her!!amazing video congrats!!!😍😍❤️❤️❤️👏👏
It has been 63 years since France first won Miss Universe in 1953 and also has been 26 years since the last Miss Universe from Europe ( Norway ). Iris has made Europe proud of her after winning Miss Universe again back for Europe for a pretty long time.
I don't think he/she wasn't discrediting Oxana for her victory as Miss Universe 2002 but I think he/she meant was a first European victory without being dethroned or stripped of her crown/title & able to complete her reigning year since Mona Grudt of Norway in 1990.
I know, right. Her performance in that beautiful yellow/gold gown in the prelim was memorable. As soon as she walked out in that dress, I knew she was the one to beat.
ohh my god when she came out with her national costume i know it already shes a winner at the end of the event. miss france along with miss thailand are the most beautiful girl that edition
I think what made Iris so attractive is that she didn't look like she HAD TO WIN. And her intelligence too! Seeing a Final 2 of women in STEM is sooo refreshing!
IRIS...a beautiful perfumed flower in the Universe!!! She's really destined as Miss Universe , every time she came out from stage flatform...very elegant, regal and so sweet...
She was my only bet during MU held in Manila... because of that I won in our betting... From winning Miss France, I knew she will be the next... her Charismatic beauty... her sweet voice... she is thecsweetest MU everrr
Iris will always be my favorite Miss Universe. Others played flirty, sassy, "perfect", but Iris played with smarts. She knew what she was gonna say and said it cool as a cucumber. She made smart attractive. She set this precedent that MU now lives by. Iris broke a lot of glass ceilings. Shame on MU for giving her a short reign, just because she's "European"
I don't think it plays with her "Europeaness". Remember her edition starts during January 2017 (same with Paulina Vega at 2014 edition during January 2015). I just wished that like Paulina, MUO extended her reign until December to make it look like a full-year reign. Nevertheless, she did great during her reign & I think that was enough a great gift for her. She's already a Miss Universe 2016 & the 2nd French woman to win Miss Universe.
@@explorer2958 well I was sad they had to have Pia tag along most of the time. I felt they were telling Iris she "needed help", but maybe that's just me. I love Iris and seeing her be part of the 2021 jury was nice!!! MU of course won't have SE Asia-level homecomings in Europe! It's ridiculous if MUO was "disappointed" with her homecoming (but she like filled up a whole square!). The fact she still won for Europe is commendable considering Europeans don't give two shits about MU. She did elevate Miss France
Nice editing.. but I still cringe with the translator. He messed up her answer & I was worried that it would hurt her chance of winning. But I guess the judges really saw something special in her that it didn’t really matter because she delievered her answer with confidence. How I wish it was translated correctly so that people were able to appreciate her beautiful answer on the final question. She was actually talking about failing her first year in medicine school when she saw her name wasn’t on the passing list. So the very next day she bought new books to study further. She also said, When you fail, you need to keep trying again, as we all do. So the next year I finally passed my first year in medicine. That’s the content of what she said & not about casting!
Agent Thank you for pointing that out to everyone out there who don't understand French. This is exactly what we need to know when it got lost in translation. Much appreciated ! 🤗
Je l'adore! Just LOVE her. I was supposed to be at her crowning but I decided to pass the chance to see Miss Universe live. Really regretted it after. I surely would have cheered for her. It was my plan. That butchered translation of her answer got me nervous though I thought it was enough to make her win already, plus her overall performance. Anyway, just love Iris Mittenaere. Beaucoup l'amour de les Philippines!
In their second year, the WME/IMG era Miss Universe produced a winner from Europe and saw a European MU winner complete her reign for the first time since 1990.
@@darealmj2163 Russia's Oxana Fedorova won Miss Universe 2002, but she was dethroned before finishing her reign and didn't crown her successor. Before France's Iris Mittenaere won Miss Universe 2016 and completed her reign by passing her crown to South Africa's Demi-Leigh Nel Peters in Miss Universe 2017, Norway's Mona Grundt was the last European to win Miss Universe and complete her reign by passing to her successor back in 1990.
Very deserving to be ever crowned from Europe for 27 yrs of drought !!! I feel the pressure went through on her interpreter !!! It's a failure from that point of view but it was her destiny to be crowned !!!
This undoubtedly was one of the best Miss Universe in history, it is in my top 5, a true miss, elegant, charming, incomparable beauty, woman's face, simply beautiful, it is not those drag-faced silicon latinas they have chosen a few times.
Para mim ela representa a essência de Ser Miss Universe eleganticima sofisticada inteligente um corpão delicada para mim a miss perfeita!!!!! Viva France!!!!!!!!!!!!
One of my Idols too in Miss Universe, although her reign is short but a wonderful and a Best year You will be a Forever Miss Universe and a Forever Title Holder..
