Plastic surgery . The more the years advance and technology the more they get done yikes. Those lady from back then wouldn’t make it in today’s Korea to compete for miss universe lol.
One reason I see why they don't win MU is because the way they represent themselves is too demure in the swimsuit and evening gown competition and needs to be more fierce in their walks. Honey Lee was the only one in recent years to show fierceness.
Yeah I think the same. They have to train a lot on their walks. For me the in recent years just 2013's, 2016's and 2017's have good ones, but they didn't know any english so that's another think to take note. Korea never send a girl with the total package. Let's see what Jisu Kim have to offer this year.
As Koreanas são mulheres de rara beleza ainda não me conformo quando a Korea não levou o título de Miss Universo quando perdeu para representante da Tailândia. Miss Korea na época era a mais capacitada e mais bela.
The one thing I can see that how different the look from each other, nowadays plastic surgery and urge for idol body, they lost their natural beauty 😕 some Korean girls are fighting against it,.. Go for it ❤
4:30 WHY DID THEY SKIP MISS KOREA-UNIVERSE 2000? I just found out today that the second female lead actress in the popular K-drama MY GIRL Park Si Yeon is Miss Korea 2000. Didn’t she make it to the coronation night of Miss Universe 2000?
If you watch the video, 1998 has been repeated. 1999 actually competed in Miss Universe 2000 and is incorrectly labelled. But since Miss Korea competes in the following year, the girl you are talking about competed in Miss Universe 2001. Check it out and try to recognise her.
I've noticed the Miss Koreas prior to 2001 are quite beautiful, facially, including those who placed in the 70s and 80s with Japan. There are atleast a dozen and a half women who are facially beautiful. Check the one who competed in 2000, labelled here as 1999 for some reason.
They used to look like intermediates between Japanese and Northern Chinese just like genetic analyses say they are, but they started to look very Korean around the late 2000s for some reason.
@@cristianbarrera2561 fuck that bullshit. Asian people deserve to have pride in their looks. We already have racist eurocentric Southeast asian countries who just want to have the whitest contestant possible. Miss thailand 2019 got her crown cause she has a rich white daddy and thailand thinks western beauty is better than their own asian looks. People are hating on korea for choosing only visibly asian contestants and not making them more racially ambiguous. The western world revolves around white people all the time and its sad that people like you want to enforce that.. Stop trying to whitewash asian countries!!
@@rebeccablackvirus975 I beg to differ. South Korea doesn't at all represent "Asian" beauty ...but more like "East Asian" beauty. And TBH..the beauty standards in South Korea are the worst..not at all inclusive. No place for black..even brown people in South Korea. They stare...they discriminate. There's discrimination in the west too... but the situation is still better than South Korea.
@@RiYa-et2fy yeah this just sounds like another salty way to shame korea for choosing visibly asian contestants instead of the half white ones in southeast asia. Southeast asia is worse, all the half european contestants winning year after year and no one says a thing about it. Miss Thai Universe top 5 was almost all half white and there was not a single half black thai among the 57 contestants. Says alot. Korea puts asian representation first while the west shames asians for being too feminine and nerdy. I only speak facts so kiss my ass.
@@rebeccablackvirus975 Your ass isn't kissable. I'd rather kick your ass. I am not talking about Thailand or any XYZ country. I am talking only about South Korea . The contestants from South Korea only represent their country and not at all "Asian beauty". Asia is huge. So get your facts right. And when I said South Korea isn't inclusive..I mean the people there aren't very fond of the blacks and browns. The Miss Universe 2019 is a blACK woman. You see that ? Have you seen any black representation in South Korea? The black people are always shown as villains in K-dramas and movies. Now..Shove the facts up your ass !! Bye.
Kung sakali may makakalusot sa Miss Universe, natitiyak ko na grand homecoming ito sa bansa nila... Very proud at magiging instant celebrity😃 korea is my second home country, one of a peaceful country, in the world... The universe rather 😂✌️😂
korea should reconsider in choosing their ladies for miss universe ~ (not saying they’re not attractive Bc they def are) but korea has NEVER WON miss universe before. Their standard of what beauty is, is NOT universal. Perhaps, it’s time to start choosing the ones they don’t always feel that should fit within the “korea standards” and be more open. The ONLY miss Korea that came close was honey lee, 4th runner up Tsk tsk tsk.
Better than the southeast asian countries and their half white contestants. Miss Vietnam is the only full ethnic southeast asian miss universe this year.
