Summer Bartholomew is one of the most remembered Miss USA's ever - She was a Game Show Hostess - She handed out trophies at the "People's Choice Awards" for 5 years or more! She was involved with many non-profit organization helping people with needs here in the California Central Valley! I'm proud of Summer! She's the Miss USA winner in 1975 from California! She's now a part of history! I praise you beautiful lady!
Thank You Miss Florida im here bcoz i just watched ur video on Tiktok and its 2022 and i just want to thank you again where ever you are rigth now. God bless you
The real results for me should have been this: Miss USA 1975: North Carolina 1st runner-up: Texas 2nd runner-up: Alabama 3rd runner-up: California 4th runner-up: Florida
@@kikidla11 I found the majority of it somewhere online one time. It was over an hour so it did not have the entire pageant. That is where this clip came from because the site i found it on had those 3 bubbles you see in the upper right corner. I just looked and the website I found it on no longer exists.
To me the worst answer won the title, I truly don't understand what were those judges looking for? In general every girl, except for the winner delivered a really strong answer. The two impress me the most were: Texas and North Carolina, to me she should have been the winner, the way she answered that question was amazing.
Obviously Miss California was an overwhelming favourite heading into the final question phase, and because of this, the judges felt that she still deserved to win regardless of her weaker answer. Personally, I think that the pageant organizers just wanted to ensure that the winner had basic presentation and communication skills as she would be a representative of their organization and for sponsors. So I'm thinking that unless the contestant sounded like an idiot, they based their decision more on beauty - which in the end is who most people want to see win. People do not watch beauty pageants to see the girl who tossed the baton the highest win, or who was able to recite the Gettysburg Address win. Summer was the most beautiful and therefore, most people turned their TV off at the end that night, feeling that they had seen a worthwhile show.
I agree with you about her answer to that question. So it seems that it was how they did overall in the pageant and not based on their final answer to the question. She also gave a not so great answer in the Miss Universe pageant when she got 2nd runner up.
None of the runner-ups would have faired any better at MU. Finland and Haiti were too strong. Summer was our best hope. Remember, she also tied with Columbia for Most Photogenic.
To everyone in this thread - if you want (or wanted back in the day) to see the girl with the most clever answer win - you watch the Miss America Pageant. How many times has an average or mediocre looking girl who can speak well win Miss America. Boring. If you want the prettiest girl to win (which most people really do who watch "Beauty" Pageants) - you watch Miss USA. Between you and me - the best speech bores me. Let's see the prettiest girl get her reward.
