@@cuiying I agree. They said "Big Basin State Park" . I assume they mean 'Big Basin Redwoods State Park' in Santa Cruz County. I've hiked there and it's only 18,000 acres (not that big). You'd have to literally walk in circles to be lost for 10 days and the fire there was in 2020. He was heard from a house "hundred of yards away" ? An uninjured person could walk that distance in a matter of minutes. And also, he didn't bring a map? Something doesn't seem right.

@@KellyMurdock-nh7pu like I said, he had enough skills to survive 10 days. And he was being followed by a mountain lion a good portion of the time. It’s all relative. But he had enough to survive as long as he did with what little he had. Most in this comment section would be dead long before that 10 day mark. Personally, I wouldn’t have made any of the stupid choices he made. But he knew enough to live 10 days.

Guys fires haven’t impacted this area for over 4 years now. This isn’t a huge area. Temps were very moderate, plenty of food and water in the area. I’d say more of an issue with mental health than somone who was truly lost.

Yeah, I'm not believing his story. That is not a big area and the terrain is pretty easy to navigate, there are trails to the ocean that only take 3-4 hours to walk. No matter what direction you walk you will find a road or major trail within a few miles. He either was going in circles or has some mental issue he didn't want to talk about.
