Great video, but can't help thinking it's going to be a merging nightmare with the Rt 55 North offramp drivers trying to go left on Rt 42 and the Rt 42 North drivers trying go right to the Rt 295 South on ramp. Crisscross madness...
a very fair point. I cant disagree.. at 65 mph there isnt a large distance between the 55 downramp and the missing moves ramp, and bellmawr exit. Folks also want a turnpike exit there... yikes.
Slight correction regarding the current route. If you're on 42N you can get off at the I believe Market St exit and turn left and make the next right back on to 42S. Get off there and get all the way into the left lane and get on to 295S from there. It is a bit of a hassle to get over 5 lanes but I've been doing it for years and always been able to get over. And you never have to go through the city or slow down. Definitely looking forward to this new route because it'll certainly make things easier

Once this connection is finished many might consider using the connection to access Interstate 295 South to U.S. Route 130 South then to U.S. 322 West via Commodore Barry Bridge followed by Interstate 95 North to Interstate 476 North to avoid the Schuylkill Expressway and it's perils. Bonus: Also a good by-pass route to avoid the Philadelphia Sports Complex during sporting events and the complicate Interstate 76, Interstate 295 and Route 42 Interchange.
As a native I always wondered why, when 295 was originally built, they just didn't have 295 go over 42/676 instead of putting in those two hairpin ramps connecting 295 south to 295 south and vice versa. Oh well, at 65 I will never see it finished. Wish they left it alone. Wish they never built 55, just brought development to the center of South Jersey.
i cant wait for this to open. i live in egg harbor and routinely have to travel to salem county for work. i have to go all the way to the gloucester city exit and get off and back on. why did it take them so long to come up with this?
Looks like a lot of the concrete barriers are down and being replaced by barrels on 295 N/S. Shouldn't be much longer before the missing moves opens. I think it needs another coat of blacktop, looks uneven. Haven't seen the 42 side to be fair.
