She was found in an area she had visited, but there could likely be many such places. They would need to search them all - which takes time.

I think they did search that area where she was found in the beginning of the investigation. She wasn’t there when they initially searched it. It was only later on when they came back to search the same area in the same spot when they found her. The whole thing is very strange and I think the authorities covered up some aspects to the investigation.

Thermal imaging sucks. I've avoided police choppers just by getting under thick thornbushes and even a bundle of palmetto once. U don't have to go all Arnold Schwarzenegger with the mud. I doubt that would work anyway since it's against your skin and would warm up fast. Honestly a cheap thermal blanket works best. If somebody was sleeping in a thermal blanket than a choppers imaging equipment might miss the person.

Whenever the Pathologists fail to tell how long she had been dead when they found her body, it’s usually due to a slight cover up.

@@archangel5627 ‼️I know this is an old comment but I couldn't find anywhere online how long she had been dead when she was found. Which leads me to believe that they were unable to determine it. But if they were unable to determine WHEN she died they definitely shouldn't have been able to determine HOW she died. I also think it's suspicious that originally the pathologist said that he wasn't sure how she died and then later on said hypothermia. And I really do believe she was carried there. If she was carried there then her scent wouldn't be there for the dogs to pick up on and all of the other pieces fall into place about why she wasn't found sooner. I suspect someone dumped her there and then dumped her clothes. They wanted her to be found so they wouldn't be suspected. It wouldn't work to dump her and then no one find her because they would still be suspected. And that would imply that one of the people they were questioning was involved. Most likely a couple people. Because if you remember the police told everyone don't go out searching at night we don't want anyone else to die blah blah blah. So of course they would have dumped her body there overnight because they KNEW no one would be there. It also had to be someone who knew her well enough to know that it was her favorite spot. Or maybe that was where they found her originally so they just dumped her where they originally kidnapped her. It's also possible she died of suffocation that's really hard to tell when someone's died of suffocation (not strangulation it's usually pretty easy to tell when someone's been strangled to death but specifically suffocation). It's also possible she ended herself she was suffering from a lot of mental health problems she was worried her r*pist was about to get out of prison and hurt her and her family. Maybe she thought if she was dead her family would be safe. So it's possible she took a bunch of some over the counter medication that wouldn't show up in the toxicology report. It's also possible someone helped her end her life. Idk this is just a really strange case.

I’m glad you wrote this. I was going to write the same thing. Very, very hard location to maintain a scent. Smell travels like water, it finds the low areas and travels the path of least resistance. Dogs are amazing trackers, but too much stock is often placed in them over terrain with lots of drop offs and crevices, and like you said, a constant current of air coming in off the ocean. Unfortunately, I believe she was just overlooked and it seems like the police work depended too much on technology and a dog’s nose on this one.

Including the legendary Dyetlov Pass case in Russia where young hikers were found missing items of clothing despite frigid and snowy conditions.

Indeed , Dyetlov is a good example essentially of panic/ paranoia and undressing en masse. I have to say these incidents fascinate me , im familiar with paradoxical undressing as a symptom of hypothermia , but this also happens when the weather is very hot and seems to be proceeded by an extreme fear. Which is another paradox as in fearful or stressful situations our most ancient instinct is to cover ourselves. I keep an open mind and either side of this is scary , on one hand , if it is psychological its horrifying how little we know about our own minds , if paranormal, its horrifying how little we know about something that has that much power over our minds.

Part of the problem as I understand it too is that they don’t test for ghb as a standard, it needs to be specifically requested. Many of these strange disappearances when they do test find elevated levels. Just something to think about when considering 411

I must admit, I've compared the two disappearances before and while the circumstances differ, they are equally odd

And if she was having a panic attack she could have been feeling hotter too.

“Dogs and thermal imaging missing the body is very odd.” These methods aren’t as fool-proof. You can see videos here on YT where people hire a professional tracking dog and handler to find them after walking a few suburban blocks....the dog failed, and missing or lost people being found by tracking dogs are the exception, not the rule. Thermal imaging also has many limitations - it works well under the best conditions, but often less so in practice. There are dozens, if not hundreds, of cases of people being found in areas previously “searched.” While some could be put there after, more likely is that the body was missed the first time, and in some cases this is proven (a hiker who died of exposure when she got lost close to the Appalachian trail. She was in a bright yellow tent and there was a huge search, but her journal and cell phone notes she kept show she was there the whole time and just over-looked.). It is hard to search a single house completely, let alone square miles, including areas with vegetation.

Thermal imaging is a wonderful tool. It does have its limitations. It works by “seeing” heat. If she was in very rough ground below the high point of the terrain, then they could’ve easily missed her if they were viewing ahead of the helicopter and not even seeing how rough the ground was when flying in the dark. They would have needed to look straight down to see her image. Poor girl obviously was having a panic attack and didn’t see a way to her home.

@@Itried20takennames except this was one of Gaia's known haunts, and it was repeatedly searched by trained personnel and then boom! Clothes strewn everywhere and her body then appears nearby with no injury's to support foul play beyond hypothermia. There was no chain of logical circumstances to draw a conclusion. The evidence suggests nothing logical! The police and searchers followed protocol, but the circumstances were beyond bizarre. To blame those who went out there to help that poor girl, and to pick them apart is wrong. This is why so many are apathetic. Lending a helping hand these days is risky. These people should at least be given the reputation due to them as competent.

The problem with the guy who was released from jail is that courts don't view sexually motivated crimes as seriously as they do murder. Recitivism rates would suggest that a person who commits a sexually motivated crime will do so again, but courts don't punish people for crimes they haven't committed and sadly many innocent people have been hurt and killed because we don't have a good way to prevent these crimes.

@Wubba Wubba the police or prison guards have no choice to let him out. It is up the courts. It is a very unfair justice system. My brother is schizophrenic and he is not allowed back home. Meanwhile murderers are allowed back. And 2 of those released murderers have murdered again since being released. They still roam the town. My brother only pushed someone who was making fun of him.
