Finally a mention of Sabu in 1996. I had always wondered what happened with that. Back then I used to call a wrestling hotline and they confirmed Sabu would be at the Rumble. Back then I was a huge Sabu Mark so I bought the PPV just to see him on WWF tv since where I lived ECW DIDN'T AIR. You can imagine my disappointment when he never showed.
I hated when Rick Martel turned into a bland face,I preferred when he was Rick "The Model" Martel" and was a hell of a heel and had his personal gimmick weapon of choice in his brand of cologne called Arrogance(was it??).
The thing is Rick Martel had more success in the WWF as a face than a heel. As a face he was a 3 time WWF tag team champion. Twice with Tony Garea in 1980 & 1981 and once with Tito Santana as Strike force in 1987-88. As a heel he never won any titles.
Lot's of heels back then never won any titles or very few. Jake the Snake and Million Dollar man never did and they were far bigger stars than Martel. Rick Rude only had the IC title once. Just the way it was back then

There was another replaced entrant in 2000 which was none other than The Undertaker who was scheduled to return that night in his biker gimmick after being out injured but unfortunately injured his arm before the event so ended up having to be out of action until the Judgement Day PPV that year

Hart knew back in December that he'd be losing the belt to Jacques Rougeau and that Piper would take it from him at the Rumble. Seriously, you didn't know that?
123 Kid missed the 1994 Royal Rumble because of a knee injury he sustained at the 1994 MSG Royal Rumble House Show (won by Owen Hart, he lastly eliminated Rikishi aka Fatu)

Duggan and Crush were the only two guys replaced in 1993, by Max Moon and Terry Taylor. Everyone else including Carlos Colon were already advertised previously. Nailz, Warrior and Bulldog are on the poster, but were all gone long before they announced the PPV (the last two were gone before Survivor Series the previous Novemeber). Giant Gonzalez ended up feuding with the Undertaker because Nailz was fired, but he wasn't a participant in the Rumble match either so who knows if Nailz would've been one of the 30.

No. Bret was replaced by Piper after he lost the IC belt to The Mountie, with the idea leading to Piper picking up his first singles title (he stated in his book "In The Pit With Piper" that he felt slighted that he never had that title victory moment in WWF, and that he wanted to help legitimize Bret), then "passing the torch" to Bret. The fever/flu Bret supposedly had was made up so that it was credible for his to lose to someone that had great heat, but was consider "comedic/mid-carder" (which, in my eyes, was an insult to Jacques Rougeau, who was a very good wrestler, but in a cartoonish gimmick). Bret, Piper, and Rougeau all said verified variations of this. You guys do a good job at Wrestlelamia. I am just relating what has been revealed many, many times beforehand.
Some of this is incorrect. McMahon didn't place the bounty on Austin in 1998. It was 1999. Secondly, there was a replacement in 2003. Originally, Damaja from OVW won the right to be a rumble participant but this was never announced on WWE programming and this was changed. Don't know who replaced him though. As for Bastion Booger in 1994, they had him miss his entrant to make people think it was Bret Hart unable to compete. Same with Skull in 1998 making everyone believe it was Austin who, under Jerry Lawler's rumor, he had been jumped backstage.
Bret Hart said in his book that he didn't have the flu that night and he was pulled from that match for some other reason that I can't remember but that flu shot was kayfabe
About the 94 rumble, youre wrong about 1-2-3 kid... he got his knee injured on an MsG house show the week before while defending the tag titles with Jannetty against the Quebecers. And yes , Bob Holly did take his spot as Vince Mcmahon says as Holly makes his entrance!
awesome video as always but the info you gave on the 98" rumble about Vince Mcmahon placing a bounty on Stone Cold is wrong that didn't happen till the 99" the 98" rumble he just simply pissed off a lot of the wwf wrestlers by attacking them in the weeks leading up to the Rumble and at the rumble they tried searching him to get revenge but were unsuccessful

In 1991 Royal Rumble match Tito Santana replaced Andre The Giant, Shane Douglas replaced Buddy Rose, and Nasty Boy Brian Knobs replaced The Honky Tonk Man . In 1992 Royal Rumble match. Nikolai Volkoff replaced Marty Jannetty and Haku replaced Nasty Boy Brian Knobs. In 1994 Royal Rumble match. Thuman Sparky Plug Replaced The 1-2-3 Kid, Virgil did replaced Kamala, and Kwang replaced Ludvig Borga. That's how it went down.

Justin Gabriel in 2014. Was originally scheduled for the match but was bumped. Was the final straw for him and quit the company soon after. Wade Barrett was also removed from the match. Scotty 2 Hotty always got attacked going to ring and Foley replaced Test in 04. Curtis Axel 2015 too

Idk where you’re getting your information, but I literally JUST watched the ‘98 Royal Rumble and both Skull and 8Ball were entrants, and so was Chainz. The only one who wasn’t was Crush, and that was because he quit due to the Montreal Screwjob just a month prior. The “case of mistaken identity” with Stone Cold actually refers to Skull when he ran out before his music started playing, and the audience thought it was Stone Cold. Hence why he got a larger pop than normal for a DOA member. Also, Stone Cold did not win the Rumble yet, so he’d have no reason to quarrel with Vince McMahon or for McMahon to place a bounty on him. That was never even a storyline until 1999. It wasn’t until after he won did he start fighting with McMahon. Do you not watch WWE at all??
I remember the Randy Savage incident at the time everyone wondered why no one came out. it took Monsoon and Piper untill the end of the Rumble when everyone to come out to figure out it was Randy Savage who never came out......if you look toward the curtin you see Him part the curtin look over his shoulder then back away.. it is quick so you won't notice it unless your paying attention. although Storyline Monsoon and Piper were supposed to be puzzled by what happen you can tell it was Randy Savage.
There's nothing mysterious about the 1-2-3 Kid's absence from the 1994 Royal Rumble. He injured his knee and was replaced by Thurman "Sparky" Plugg. McMahon even said during the broadcast Plugg was Kid's replacement.
The 1-2-3 Kid was injured(as was Borga) at the msg house show the Monday before the Rumble 94 And it is clearly said by Vince McMahon that Bob Holly was his replacement
The Red Rooster never seems to get the credit he deserves. He was actually pretty popular in his day. But he doesn't even have an entry in my WWE Encyclopedia...which otherwise includes EVERYONE.
heyman never talked sabu out of the 96 rumble when heyman was approached about sabu being in the rumble by at the time wwf heyman told them they had to ask original sheik sabu's uncle if sabu could work for them and he squashed the idea instantly.
Skull was attacked not because McMahon had put out a bounty on Austin (that happen in 99) but because Austin had spent the weeks leading up to the rumble attacking anyone he came across who happened to be in the match

Except it's not as dangerous ass it looked. It was prop Sugar Glass I believe is what it's called. Not a real glass pane. On another note I actually have to say I had totally liked Crush but had totally forgotten about his. Probably because being taken out by Doink the Clown isn't a very memorable moment in the collection of epic moments that is WWE history. Not so much nowadays.
The replacements for the Rumble's we're always the really low end guys on the card who had no fucking chance in hell of winning the thing lol. I think they should of had Zeus as a replacement in 90 or 91 or something or try to get a surprise guy in there for some of these Rumble replacements.
