Thank you for that info. I was wondering who the divers were and if they found this on just a random recreational dive or if they went down with this purpose. I figured the later, due to the guide rope leading right down to the car, but that could have been a coincidence or put there after they randomly found the car.
@@leepurdy9069 they use sonar to locate vehicle like objects, send down a magnet to attach a guide rope then, if it finds metal, use that rope to descend to their find. I'm absolutely amazed at the amount of people being found years later in their cars in lakes and waterways. Thank you to everyone who does this type of work and volunteer work, you are all amazing.
It's true. So many people missing for so long. People think, why wouldn't you just open the door and swim out. It's not that simple, and nobody, nobody just sits back and let's themselves die.
There’s still a couple signs up in my area of a firefighter, who went missing almost 2 decades ago. They actually found her car with her blood in some water like this but she was never found.
Am I the only one who finds it creepy to see something suddenly appear in murky water? Although I'm glad they found her and gave her family answers, seeing this is nightmare fuel for me.
As the grandson of Mrs. Hemphill I would like to thank you from our whole family for bringing us some closure ( and for getting this video out on Friday instead of Saturday like you had planned). You have a heart of gold for what you are doing. I'd like to meet you and shake your hand someday. God bless you!
Your grandma must be awful proud of you! Bet she was amazing as well. Sorry for your loss. Sending prayers still for all of her loved ones. Nug is awesome!!
It's crazy to think about how many more of the missing that are under water , some have been there as long as 30 years and the poor family never knowing what happened to their loved ones!! Thank you to all who do this kind of stuff and finally bring people home!!!!!
Amen! Can’t wait for the day when all these hurtful events will be no more. Death will be no more, and the causer of these act will be done away with forever. Lord we need you now more than ever. Until then, all who are involved in finding and bringing closure to these families, continue to be blessed.
Drowning is such a horrifying way to die. I was held underwater for a period of time as a kid it’s very scary but to have this experience and for it to be your last is just so heartbreaking. I hope all these people you are finding I truly hope their souls can finally rest ❤
I know I almost drowned it's awful a man got me out of the truck that flipped upside down into a pond in the winter time I'm grateful GOD for his grace he bestowed on me and for the man who helped me out
I was held under water as a kid at age 9 and after a few seconds that felt like hours I began to accept my fate and told myself “alright then” and once I accepted it, it felt good and beautiful. Then the same person that held me down pulled me up and it literally felt like he was ripping me away from a different time line. I will never forget it…I’m 56 now.
Its awesome that you found her remains and at least the family has answers to questions about what happened to the loved ones. At least they know it was probably a tragic accident and not anything evil.
Yes it did the windows didn't break so it filled up with water in then 5or10 minutes of trying to get air but nothing but water it was painful sorry to say 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢❤❤❤❤❤
16 years later is a long time and thanks to these wonderful men and women divers who solve a mystery that helps families to heal from extraordinary pain of losing a loved one. 😔💔
Sorry to hear that 🙏 It's True, we Never know what's around the corner.. Be Safe Guys, and always be Aware of your Surroundings! Shout out to the Diver's and to all involved, who help make these Miracles happen 🙏 🙌 ❤and Respect, from 🇬🇧
A sad story.. Miriam Ruth Hemphill aged 85 killed herself in July 22 2005 driving in the lake three months after her daughter Connie aged 44 commited suicide in a parking lot in Dayton,Ohio and husband and father Bill died in 2016 at the age of 95 knowing and not knowing respectively. Miriam Ruth left a note about her daughter´s death with a clipping concerning a person who drove into a lake. A family reunited but only in the afterlife.
I got trapped in the backseat of a car under water. I think 2003. To this day I'm still amazed I made it out. I don't think I would've made it if it were a 2 door car. A very scary experience.
@shenetheacrockett1033 it was spring time and the last time it snowed that winter. Hit ice, went off to the right side just before the guard rail started. The 2 guys in the front seats opened their doors and jumped out. I couldn't get my seat belt off. The water was very cold and I couldn't feel my fingers. The water was also dirty, like chocolate milk, couldn't see through it. Water was up to my neck when I got the seat belt off, but then I couldn't find the door handle. Again, couldn't feel my fingers. The water came over my head and I held my breath. Started to run out of air, clawing at the door. I reached my head way back and there was a pocket of air towards the back. I took in a breath of air and I was able to open the door and swim up. Now I was trying to swim with winter boots and a winter jacket in a current. I remember yelling for help but I was so out of energy, I don't think any heard me. I got to the shore, but was too exhausted to stand up. I just crawled along the shoreline back to the bridge.

A couple years ago police were tipped off about a missing lady from Ohio. An anonymous person told police she could be found in her car in the Ohio River in Indiana. Divers were sent to search for it and the car was indeed there along with remains still inside that were identified as the missing lady. She'd been missing for nearly 20 years
@@wirelessone2986 yea I wondered the same thing. I thought it was weird that the car was still in the same spot after 20 years because the river has flooded a few times since then. I figured it would have been half way to New Orleans by then.
@PlayerToBeNamedLater1973 Cars don't flow down rivers all like that. They sink and they stay put.. it just takes the right people to find them and I'm sure there are tons of bodies still in the ohio River fr
@@angelamarie727 apparently you are right. One night I was in my garage and two soaking wet drunk guys came walking up and asked to use my phone. They'd ran off the road into the river and managed to get out and swim to the bank before their Jeep sank . I just shook my head and gave them dry clothes. After about a half hour some lady came and picked them up. Nobody even attempted to get the Jeep out and I assume I'm one of very few people who even know it's there .
@ericdraven7185 seems you've been on the internet to long , go out touch some grass and stop looking at the world with negativity. There's already enough negative people like you. Why not try and be positive? Maybe ur life will be less gloom and doom. must be pretty miserable with that mind set.

Just watching the video was scary enough for me. I lived in Sacramento for many years, many cars end up in that river. Not a good river to dive into looking for lost vehicles.
Nug thank you for you hard work. Im sorry this comment section turned into a bunch of fanatics talking about their own opinion about a person deciding to unalive themselves rather than whats relevant to you. Keep up your good work!
This is amazing... idk how a cop like me has never seen these videos. They just now popped up. And to see such a lovely message from the family- these guys are doing some really amazing stuff for people who really need that closure.

They are Human & they come across all kinds of things, this day the find closed a case but it was just meant to be that day, No angels involved I'm afraid.
I remember a young couple, in their Teens left the house, drove away in a Car and disappeared. 29 years later they were found just a quarter of a mile away, upside down in a river. The man who found them was testing out some new equipment.. So very sad 😔

@@moniqueengleman873 the sound comes from the breathing apparatus, I scuba dive and I’ve found that about 6/10 of them just sound like that, they aren’t faulty and he doesn’t have asthma his thing just makes that sound
My dad was in the navy and the drills with scuba diving they had to do were brutal. If it sounds like hes screaming its because breathing like that isn't easy and you need to thoroughly train for these types of things. My dad ended up being able to hold his breath for almost 4 minutes. You also have to practice rising from deep depths SLOWLY
She was found 16yrs later after she die. I wonder if her body is still there knowing that Biodegradation will be slowing down due cold temperature at such depth. But still tho, i highly doubt it since 16yrs is such a long time.
How do police muss these things when looking for people time an time again people are found after a huge search just metres from their cars or last place they were found how are they not found in a price search
Reason why stated by @The Random Channel: basically his regulator is what slows the air down from about 250psi from the tank, to a pressure we can breathe from. If that regulator goes, you’ve got the full 250 odd psi going through to the mouth piece, and that is lethal.
@@emeraldskiesoficeland look I’m not a fucking diving expert. I have no idea how the equipment works but I know that that doesn’t sound good and my husband did diving during special forces training in the military, and that is indicative of a major problem like you shouldn’t be diving major problem.
As a former police officer I'm glad Mrs. Hemphill's family was finally able to find Peace in the knowledge she would be where they could 'visit' her and pay their Respects.
officer Whalen, this video is a bit short on context. Obviously, we saw here them going down that deep to attach the rope to that car to have it pulled out. But, the car was down so deep it couldn't be seen from the surface, or just a few feet under the surface. Was that lake being checked over in general and they found it? How was that car discovered?
I believe they were originally treasure hunters and cleaning up the waterways. They started finding guns and would call the police because it would be illegal to keep & in case it was lost evidence. They also started finding cars with bodies in them. Again, they would call the police. Soon, they were working with the police on cold cases. Afterward, families would contact them for help in finding their lost loved ones. They searched routes these lost souls would have traveled. They searched the nearby waterways, hikers and forests, etc I may be thinking of different group, but it's probably along those lines
@@TheNoiseySpectatorthere’s a show, adventures with purpose- that these men, that are divers get calls and messages from families of missing people..now obviously they probably have requirements to come out, but they narrow down bodies of water that could be a potential site of the vehicle/person(s) they’re looking for. One will go out on a boat with sonar equipment, scan the lake, if they see any vehicles thru sonar, they drop a line with a magnet so it’ll stick to the car,and they tie a booey up topside, so they go get there gear on, and check the license plate. They usually bring it up with them..but then the police are notified, they get a machine to pull out the car, and then they look for remains in the windows..not sure what happens after, but it’s very sad to watch..families feel like at least knowing what happened and laying your loved one to rest, doesn’t take away pain, but that peace..at least knowing they’ve been lovingly laid to rest.

@Kokopilau77 I mean, yeah. Still, though. It's almost like intruding on someone. It's been down there for over a decade and a half and no eye has seen it...
@@Kokopilau77 depends on how far down it is and what the water's like. Decomposition is weird underwater, some corpses kind of end up mummified as their soft tissues turn into something like soap, rather than being picked clean by bacteria and wildlife. They're actually dangerous to recover since they have mass that doesn't always move predictably and can sometimes get tangled on recovery divers.
