I've seen my dad back in his hayday log a many days in the cold like that with those old 80s models 648ds and 640d john deere no windows no heat people was tuff back then that's all I can say
This is a 1968 International S7B with a 353 Detroit and yes, it gets a bit brisk out there in the winter sometimes! Thanks for your comment and thanks for watching!!
Don't be afraid to stretch your cable out all the way once and awhile and coat the heck out of it with old engine oil ! You will see a big difference in how it spools
Good job that was a fun video to watch you sure have some real pretty property there and that looks like a real good little skitter take your time last you forever be careful
Hello, I was busy cutting and skidding logs putting a full load together to haul out and winter kind of snuck up on me. When we get snow here in the U.P. it comes quick...lake effect.
Wow, that looks like playing in a winter wonderland! It seems like you may be a procrastinator. What if it didn’t start or didn’t work? You’d be cold, very cold and very mad! It worked and now you can saw more firewood. What if you throw out your back. You’d be cold, very cold. You might be a procrastinator! Victory is sweet every time until you fail, then everyone will know that your a procrastinator! From where I sit, procrastinators are going to fail sooner or later! I also heat only with firewood. Your video looked like fun and who doesn’t love driving through the snow? There is a small chance something will happen and cause you not to succeed. I couldn’t accept defeat. I’d be pulling and cutting weeks earlier. Just saying. Oh what a beautiful place you have! Congratulations on your success! Reminds me of Santa’s sleigh pulling gifts through the snow!
I did an in-frame overhaul on it last year and she runs great! However, she's real cold blooded. Below about 35F you can spray a whole can of starting fluid in the intake and it won't even fire...unless you preheat it, then she fires right up! Thanks for your comment!!
Well hook it up to a tree and walk it out. As the one replied use your old diesel oil on it. I don't know or need to know but should have dragged a number to your main road/access way. Then they are easier to get at and bring in when. You brought in two lots. If you were to bring to the road for an other day?? while your machine is warm will be easier for next time. Then do enough cutting for over night for fire wood. Wood rather be doing what your doing, not here! did you get it? cheers
That's what I did, I had it hooked up to a tree top and free wheeled the cable out. then re-spooled it. I didn't have time to pull any tops out to the road before the snow came. Thanks for your comment!
@@niemiwoods Sorry I am a doer not a spectator! Would rather be there cutting or even choker-man. I figure that too many in life are spectators. But I grew up on a small farm, doing some of all that cutting wood. I cut sent to mill some 50,000 board ft in shorts. Had an argument with dad about that. He said all the wood should be cut in 16+ ft, no because at 22+ft there was ?? what ever it was more for board ft. He con seeded finally. One of very few times. One maple branch I cut up years ago was 3 ft in size. Hence me poking fun at . take Care.
Never stand outside the cab while witching if the cable breaks the back lash will kill or injure you I know I had a friend who almost lost their life from a broken cable back lash.
