Just what I need, more pressure to clean out the garage! Great to see Christy helping you bring order out of chaos. Great use of equipment too (except for manual movement of pallet, but you acknowledged that). In response to one person's comment, I always appreciate your recommendations on particular products so please continue to share your experience. We can decide to accept or not.

Lots of fun working with the old neighbors. I had 4 stumps ground on my lot this spring and the person had a dedicated grinder using a 6 cylinder diesel. Man that thing threw chips for 30’. Definitely didn’t stand in front. Great video. 👍👍👍

LOVE IT!! Great video! I will say this..... I did enjoy seeing a beginner on the tractor, and at the same time , Tim... you are a better man than me. I would have been nervous from the minute Jimmy had those awkward loads to let anyone else use your tractor. ....More and more, I’d love to be able to do what you guys are doing. What a way to spend your time. Keep it up and keep the videos coming!

You got me stumped on this video. I had an old apple tree stump in my yard and criss crossed cut the top then chipped it out below ground level then filled the depression in. Over the years a sink hole developed and I was always filling it in as the rest of the stump slowly rotted. It turned out to be a 20 year or so project. Glad to see you grinding the stumps as deep as you can. That Ventrac is a great machine!

John Deere should be paying ttwt massive amounts of money for showing what these compact tractors are capable of doing. I am continually impressed with what you accomplish with Johnny, the heavy hitch, and the grapple. I sure hope Jimmy and his uncle dont get hurt working through that "pile" of logs Jimmy stacked. Looking forward to hearing more about the new gooseneck we keep seeing glimpses of.

You guys had a really busy day. Looks like everyone was pleased with the outcome. I liked seeing Jimmy and Corey operating the tractor. They did a good job most likely because of your instructions. I would have kept most of what Jimmy brought to be mulched. There were quite a few straight logs that would have made excellent firewood.

Another incidence where the Artillian grapple shows just how well it’s built. The stump grinder is great. Good thing you had Christy along for some well needed management advice! Keep on tractoring and God bless.
@TractorTimewithTim

Exactly, Jon! The grapple is nearly unbreakable! And Christy’s simple idea would have made rolling that log across the yard trivial.

The quickness your friend pick-upped and went shows that Deere is easy to operate. I have an older 245 lawn tractor and don't have the pedal controls. I just bought the 1023E (just 54 mower deck) and was wondering about the foot pedal -forward and reverse. After closely watching him as soon as he started, I loved his backing up, then quickly moving to next point. This is great considering most tractors require you to look down before you shift forward - thus slower. My Deere is not home yet, they said up to 3 weeks before delivery. So I sit and study everything about this tractor and the1025R too. Soon I hope, even if the manager calls like the LandPro FB Message replied back to my gripe on this issue...I offered to come work the shop to expedite my tractor set up, and help others. They said the manager would call me.

Yes, I enjoyed seeing others operating the tractors. Very Capable 1025r. I am currently deciding between the 1025r and the 2038r. (with most implements.) For 2 acre farm/garden ..and general home/woods management. The thumb and the grapple I've seen on your 1025r is AMAZING. Makes my choice very hard now. I always thought bigger is better... but, that 1025r is very capable !!! THANK so much for your videos. God Bless you both.

Just had the chance to try my new Artillian grapples, set up just like yours. I now have about 10 hours experience moving brush piles, logs, and other debris. This is an excellent tool and wished that I had them many years ago. I manage a 60 acre tree farm in SW Washington, so lots of need. It is mounted on a JD 2025R. I also purchased the tooth bar for my bucket - another very good tool. In any event, I learned about them thru this channel. Thanks for the good work.

I tell ya Tim, your getting really got at using your equipment and learning to feel your way which is one of the most important ways to use equipment to iys greatest abilities, you can make equipment do things it wasn't really rated to do just buy feel and learning the strengths and weaknesses of the piece of equipment your using and it shows so bravo brother, you remind me of me a little, you like me like things to be done your way but your doing great to keep it under control, , me I still have to work on that lol, God bless guys, keep pushing
@TractorTimewithTim
@TractorTimewithTim 5 лет назад
Thanks! Yes, you nailed it. The machine wasn't intended to move that big stump. However, nothing I did in this episode was harmful to the machine. It is hard to 'teach' this. A set of "Do this, don't do that" rules will not suffice. It takes patience, practice, and persistence to make these little tractors productive.

I have a 1025r and I have to tell you that there is no way my tractor would have been able to pick up what yours has been doing. It has been back to the John Deere store twice and they keep telling me it is fine. I use my pallet forks for picking up logs and they weigh less than the grapple weighs. Glad you have one that works correctly.

I understand balance and load and used to work in the masonry business where I operated numerous variations of fork lifts, lulls and teleporters. We're talking about 5000 lbs sometimes 3 stories high. Saturday I bought a new Woods 5' tiller and used my new TYM 264 to lift it out of the truck. The TYM 264 is rated for 20 lbs more than your tractor and is physically bigger. I looked at 1025s I really didn't think about ballast with 600 lbs. The truck and tractor were 90 degrees to each other. My sister backed under the loader and I lifted the tiller easily and she pulled out, very stable UNTIL I lowered it. One rear tire came off the ground a little once the load was down and in FRONT of the tractor. I had a pallet to lay it on and kept it slow without stopping. Really increased my pucker factor! I'm not sure how much ballast you had, but you were lifting WAY more the 600 lbs with a little smaller and lighter tractor. I had a long conversation with my sister about safety, it really scared her to the point she didn't think she wanted to run it anymore after falling in love with it! I'm filling the rear tires on the tractor this week asap!

It might be time to invest in pro chainsaw just to have for when you do work like this. Maybe a husqvarna 372, big enough for almost anything but not to big to do small work too. It’s a good market to pick one up now because husqvarna just came out with the 572 (newer version) so you can get them for a real good deal (600-700) new! If you had a saw in that class you could have taken 5 min and cut the whole stump right in half! Keep up the good work!

Yup...learned my lesson. Let my neighbor use mine and within seconds he managed to bend one of the rods in the top loader cylinders that cost me $600 to replace. Didn’t learn that time because I let him Use it again a year or so later to bush hog and he ran over a stump and the front tire slipped off the side and landed on the edge of the rim. Warped the rim which then caused the hub to wobble and over time broke the axle seal which drained the entire axle of oil and cost me $800 total to replace the wheel and replace the front axle seal and bearings. Did all the work myself or it would have been more than that. Had to buy JD exclusive tool for the nut inside the spindle housing @ $65. They charge $86 an hour here at my JD dealer. No one has used mine since and no one will again as long as I’m living! People who don’t own it don’t use it as cautiously as us owners. If something breaks it’s no skin off their teeth or $ out of their wallets.

Tim may I suggest that you put 2 longer small diameter lengthwise and then stack the rest crosswise.. That way most logs are out of the dirt for cutting with the chainsaw. The big log you could have RIP cut with a chainsaw into more manageable chunks also I think. You are pretty handy tho Tim

It's so funny, we compare companies and models but that engine sounds almost the same as the one in my gr2110 and gr2120 andd the same as my buddies small bobcat excavator, probably closest to that tbh. I wish I knew how many of these competitors use the same engines haha. Also that tractor is very much a solid machine, i hope your greasing that loader good!

I would have asked that the tree service cut the stumps closer to the ground and the large stump stems be cut into more manageable sizes. The wood in those stems is curly and dense, but when you cut them down to fit your stove, they make a lot of good BTU's. I find it to be worth the effort and it uses more of the tree.

This was the second video I have seen you use the stump grinder, the first video you had a friend with a box blade that would drag the wood shavings out of your way to reveal any pieces of stump that might be left. Why don't you put a box blade on the 3pt. lift on Ventrac
