The Missouri Ozark region in the southeastern part of the state is known for its densely wooded rolling mountains and old mining. The mining industry in the Ozarks has a deep history which dates back more than 280 years. Come along as we explore the Missouri Mines State Historic Site which contains old mining buildings preserved from many years past. Lastly, we end up at the Taum Sauk Mountain State Park which has the highest peak in the state and is home to the great Ozark trail.
