A College Park woman says her life has been turned upside down after police arrested her for a crime, she says she didn't commit. However, DeKalb County police have doubled down on the arrest. They say the woman attacked and robbed an elderly woman and her son with a knife, even though the victim and her son now say police have the wrong person.

If you are innocent and cannot afford a lawyer sometimes professing your innocence works like in this case. Her professing her innocence and using the news to show her photos to the victims cleared her name and the charges will be dropped soon or have been dropped already

When i was just a teenager, 2 outstanding cops pulled me over, dragged me to a robbery scence to be identified. The shop owner took one glance at me, looked angrily at the 2 outstanding officers and said ," he looks nothing like the guy i described!!" They let me go.

Some people just have generic faces. Her face is very generic. I also have a very genetic face and get mixed up with people all the time. She said “y’all look alike” she’s also a BW. It’s not about color.. a lot of us just have similar facial features.. like nothing STUCK OUT about this woman’s face..she didn’t have an intense jawline, a crooked nose, some crazy eyebrows , or huge bulging eyes.. she just had a normal face 🤷🏻‍♀️ but I agree that this is very screwed up!!! She deserves some sort of compensation!!!

No, what she needs is the charges dropped immediately. Hopefully she hasn't been arraigned, because that will give her a criminal record. If so, she needs everything dismissed prior to arraignment.

She must serve the police with a lawsuit for the mistaken identity that could have cost her life to be taken while looking down the barrel of a gun pointed at her. This move is wrong and even while she was being wrongfully accused she was saying you got the wrong person, but the police didn't care.

I hope they CLEAR her record. I know they will eventually get around to dropping the charges but some jobs do not like you having an arrest on your record! This is sad to hear and I hope everything is erased off this lady's record!

If she’s is truly innocent, then she should spend more time proving her innocence in court than talking to the press. Note how this story says nothing about what she pled in court, what evidence was presented, where exactly the case has progressed, or any specific details about her defense.

Well If knowing so much of how the criminal system works, you would know I had to bond out so that first court appearance was for that only. The isn't a court date set for the charges but at least I didn't have to wait 1-4 years to get my truth out. I reached out to the DA police etc, nobody believed me because everyone says I didn't do it. But in this case I really didn't. So going to the news was a way to get my story out as well as investigate because the police never came and asked for an alibi or a line up. So because dekalb failed to do their part and was not willing to hear me out, I DID WHAT I HAD TO DO. Once you are arrested you don't go to court right away especially not felony charges so do some more research before speaking negatively on someone pain!

Not true. Facial “recognition” caused a man in Texas to be arrested for a crime that he didn’t commit. Although the police were able to validate his claim, and he was eventually released, it came hours after he was both physically and sexually assaulted by 3 inmates in the jail. This man was in his late 50’s and is now at age 61 suing Macy’s and possibly the police department.

Actually there have been several cases of wrongful arrests in facial recognition cases especially in the Africa America community. You might want to go do some thorough research before making a statement like that.
