Thanks for the comments. Several factors come into play on these. Purple heart is a bit more expensive in Australia. It's an imported wood and isn't readily available (I am also regional NSW, so it takes additional effort to get woods as it is a 4hr drive to Sydney). I tend to work with a lot of Australian hardwoods for that reason. Purpleheart sees a premium on pen sales as a result. I don't typically have a stockpile on hand, I quote and make to order.
