Jason, I know it's a big pain in the neck to video while you're trying to work. But I am so grateful you did this one. I just really like seeing the progress, and even a hiccup now and then. But I also like watching you solve any problems. You did great on that one! Thanks for the update!

My $0.02. Put the roof on, then cut into the side of the grain silo. It gives you a shady workplace and protects the door opening from rain.

Definitely add the brackets. After you figure out the door, then you can decide if you want to put two coach lights on either side of the door or hang a single, larger pendant to light up the front porch.

For rain gutters you can use 4" pipe and actually heat it to the circumference of the silo. Once you get the roundness of the pipe around you can cut the top off either a 3-4in wide slit or cut it 3/4 way for your down spout you can use a 3" pipe for the down spout cut the opening to fit the 4" condor and use pipe hangers for securing. Then use elbows for the drain. The hardest part is getting the pipe to bend heat slowly, bend slowly. I would just do 1 length to see if it will work for you.from the west coast of Tennessee. Happy siloing.

Jason, I saw a series of videos of a family building a real nice Grain Bin house. They welded metal frames in their cutouts for the doors and windows and that added strength and solved the problem of the curvature of the bin.

I just watched another blogger do a roof over w/moisture barrier & then perlons onto the roof to fasten the metal to. They said it was because of the mointure that come off from metal roofing wont rot out the roof? I figured you know all of that. I love the idea of the wood showing underneath.

Definitely more brackets, especially under the ridge beam. It'll look great, and strengthen it as well. Not to many, just a few. A French door would be awesome, although the longer the door opening, the more difficult to frame on a round wall. But that's what I'd do. It'd look sic..😂😅 Love ya'll ❤️

Nice save on the center beam. Building the porch first was a smart move to keep weather off the door opening. You should get one of those inexpensive scaffoldings from harbor freight it would make the high work safer than the sketchy ladder

It's looking super nice kids. Jason, your comment of where you were putting your phone reminded me of something my daughter told me when she was around 18 or 20. She told me not to worry because she would be flying. She said she would call me if her plane went down. I told her of her plane went down she wouldn't call me. She finally asked why I was saying she wouldn't call. I told her because she would be dead. I couldn't help but laugh because that comment had came from my highly gifted child. Thank God over the years she has gain common sense, but she sure didn't have any when she was young! I will never let her live that one down. X's &

Jason, first let me say you sure are a hard working person . When I was building you could definitely work for me. You are right with putting the tong a grove first then felt paper then metal. It’s your place but I think it would be better to put a 36 in. Door then you could put some kind of light fixtures on the sides. Keep up the great work.

While you were cutting that middle beam I was talking to you - well - yelling - don't forget your OVERHANG - - hehehe ... but you did the exact fix as well ... Good job Jason!!! Invest in a scaffold system - for under $300 you can get one a HD - maybe even on FB MP for cheaper in your area for someone selling theirs off, or maybe a friend has one you can borrow. but once you cut that open and since they have wheels you can move around the deck and have so much more room and safety than just a ladder provides. HD also has one that is a 2 story for under $700 which can get you up 12 ft - which will be perfect for building the 2nd story to the bin, and it's stackable so it can be 6 or 8 foot depending on the need at the time and it can be used on the outside on the deck as well for all the height required things you'll be doing. It's worth the investment - I still have mine from years ago for when I need it again.

Put extra brackets at the main focal points looking at the building. 100% Put the roof on the porch before you cut a hole, as for the stairs you could build stackable rectangular boxes that’ll give you a cascade staircase. Kyle @rrbuildings just did his deck that way instead of stringers with tread & risers, turned out awesome

Porch first. So when it rains, and it will, you can do the door dry. Love the black brackets. Continue with those. How about a folding door?. You can open one side or both. Personally I despise sliding doors. They look cheap. Personal preference here would be a large front door, made of wood.
