Mistakes - original song 

I heard a sound, wish I could make
I found out it was just a mistake
Am I allowed to replicate?
Does it count if I just imitate?
I should be proud of what I played
On repeat till it starts to sound fake
Pound for pound, it’s not the same
My own song and I can’t relate
I want to sound
I want to sound like a mistake
I want to be just like a magician
And pull a happy accident out of my hat
Oh my oh me, there’d be no competition
If writing a song was as simple as that
I would inspire a whole generation
To make the kind of sound that we all need to hear
To be unafraid of imagination
And travel beyond the great sound frontier
I want to hear
I want to hear your mistake
I want to know how long it takes
For my brain to start to create
I sit around, and I wait
And every song comes a little too late
I need to hunger, I need to yearn
Feel the force that makes the world turn
Pretty soon, the world’s gonna burn
Can’t write a song if I live in an urn
I want to learn
I want to learn from my mistakes
I want to be just like a magician
So I could be enshrouded by mysterious air
Unfortunately, I’m just a musician
And every trick I ever did learn is laid bare
And every word is long contemplated
It took me a decade just to get prepared
To sing my songs, which never would be created
Without the mistakes that I never declared
