I’m not sure what code is in Texas, but the heel of those rafters on the existing roof of the house should have a solid 2x10 or something underneath them and not just nail down to the OSB

I put this on STR talks but wanted to make sure you read. Bag Balm works really good for hot spots and might also work good for your leg when you get sores. It helps it to heal faster.
