Fan project for the first Era of the Mistborn world. I wanted to recreate the tone of dread and submission that transitions to rebellion and strength. A quick introduction to the Mistborn world without giving anything away from the story. I decided that a rough, sketchy look would suit this harsh fantasy.
Casting Choices, in order of showing:
Kelsier - Charlie Hunnam
Lord Ruler - Oscar Issac
Clubs - Robert Carlyle
Sazed - Lance Reddick
Marsh - Craig McGinlay
Vin - Dafne Keen
Dockson - Gina Torres
Ham - Jeffrey Wright
Elend - Tyree Brown
Music spliced from Equilibrium/Enemy by Blue Foundation

Anyone else really hoping for a mistborn animated series in a similar vain as arcane? It's unlikely, most likely they'll go live action. But like aghh if mistborn wouldn't be perfect in a stylistic animation style

That could be amazing! As long as they keep it accurate to the books 😄. If they do that and make it Arcane-like with the animation, I would definitely watch it. Not that I wouldn't if it would be a different animation-style 😂. The mistborn-series is just amazing

Mistborn should deffo be an animated show. There's more room for creativity with the visuals if it's done in animation..kinda like Arcane Anyways loved the work you've done here

I feel like I should be guessing the roles your fan cast would play. I'm guessing... Charlie Hunnam as Kelsier, Oscar Isaac as Dockson, Robert Carlyle as Clubs, Lance Reddick as Sazed, Craig McGinlay as... Breeze, maybe? And Dafne Keen as Vin, obviously. Those are my best guesses. This is very well-animated. Fanmade Mistborn content just doesn't get enough attention, does it?

this is great. some feedback, maybe. I'm by no means an expert on animation or drawing. but as a casual viewer, maybe you could try and make the impacts (like the metal in the vial, or the coins on the cobbles) more lifelike, as they kinda just float and bounce weirdly. Other than that, the composition is great, colour scheme is great, style is great. Nice job!

Yes, mismatch with the music. The animation is gorgeous, (like it's STUNNING OP! You did good with it!) but the music is so blandly contemporary with no flourishes or excitement, it has good lyrics but the actual singing and sound don't convey their grit. I'd honestly go with a very striking instrumental. It's not so easy for an animator to just wrangle up something, but surely there must a musician who is a fellow fan!

First I just want to say that this is an amazing animation and I can’t wait for the Mistborn adaptation to come. On the fan casting, the only two I could get behind were Rashek, Sazed, Vin, and Marsh. Everyone else just doesn’t fit their descriptions nor what they sound like they look like, especially Elend. Most definitely Elend. Also I wrote this in a different comment but Dox being a woman is very strange considering his character

it needs some little improvements here and there, maybe with those nails at 0:17 or with that bounce at 0:48, but those are tiny details. Overall, its really impressive. I really like the image of Luthadel with that big red sun behind, I think the music fits really well and I like how the animation follows its beats. I also want to point out that, in my opinion, those mists are really neat
