The sharp line your talking about is parting line flash. Its where the two halts of the mold touch. It can be from over packing the mold with plastic or not having enough tonnage on the molding machine.

I’ve never had that happened. Normally there is nothing else to do, but to make sure your rings are not cold. Cold can weaken plastic. If they break easily, that usually means that the plastic was bad and/ or the ring was accidentaly poorly made. I would ask the store where you bought to give you new one. They should not break easily in normal use
Thank you for your prompt response. I have seen that there are some rings of the play brand that I think have solved the theme of imperfections at the edges, have you tried them?
I have tried some. I hear that Cathedral juggling rings are really good and ready to use from the box. Those are my next ones to get. But that sanding is super easy and fast to do (if needed), so I wouldn’t worry about that
