Great video! I like the idea of laminating the grid paper, your peel-apart technique and the hint of using the blending tool! Love your ornament stamps! Since embossing ink stays sticky for a bit, I can see stamping several cards then embossing them! Thanks for sharing!
Simon, These are great helpful tips for the misti. I am new to stamping & cardmaking. I watch videos daily & have learned so much during our stay home time. Cardmaking is becoming fun instead of "oops that didnt come out right".
Simon I just discovered your products and videos today. Omg! My mind is blown how talented you are at such a young age. I plan to buy all of your products! Thx for the awesome videos too! Bobby
Hi Simon, I have a Misti but don't use it because it was the 1st stamping position tool I bought and found I really liked Tim Holtz better! also Crafters companion and We R memory keepers all more affordable and not so greedy as Misti company! The tips you gave work well with the other stamp tools also ! For other viewers I would say buy one of the other stamping platforms and spend your money on some of Simon's beautiful stamps he just released or His 3 new ink colors they are beautiful!
thanks for the hacks - some I knew, some were new to me - favorite way to use the misti is with my 5 year old granddaughter. She's been stamping for a year with it and is never disappointed with a stamped image since she knows when it isn't inked well enough the first time, she can always go back, reink and stamp again with not problem. Great way for young ones to stamp without being frustrated
Lol. “Past Simon”. Loved it. I’ve started to do the whole stamp set stamping and make a notebook with it. I mark the name of the set and the location that I’m storing it. I used colored dots on the actual stamp set with a number and put the same on the whole stamp image. It helps me know where to look and to know what I have.
I like how you simplify the techniques and your voice is clear and commanding. I’m a 55 y/o retiree who just became a grandfather. That catapulted me to start my scrapbooking again and I wanted to learn to make my own greeting cards that are personal and I can snail mail. We have been addicted to instant gratifying digital stuff and quite frankly I’m getting tired of it. It was quite refreshing to see your videos so you just gained a Subscriber.
I just discovered you and I’m so glad that I did. I will be looking to get all that Misti loot for my craft room. If you’re reading my comment, Simon, I’m send YOU a virtual hug. Thanks for the videos - awesome job kiddo.
I think I might be more addicted to BUYING new card-making things, than I am to making new cards 🤣😂😂😁 p.s This is my fav person to watch on You Tube! Hands down!
Well, I finally bit the bullet and got a Misti, based pretty much on this video. And just WOW! Your tip for gluing on the top card piece within the Misti was a total game changer! I make cards for a Women’s group at church to send out, and have probably made 100 cards since March for them. It would have been a much faster job had I already had a Misti! Thanks, Simon! You helped me step up my game!!
Your inks look really cool with the one-pad and getting darker shading with repeat stamping. I've never had much success with that technique with other kinds of inks.
Thanks so much for this video Simon! I have several layering stamps but have never got the hang of using them because the inks I have are too far apart in tone, I never like the results. Your tip to just keep stamping with the same colour is brilliant, thank you!
Misti hack - Use it to help glue card fronts on straight. Card front must be same size as the full card. Put card into corner of Misti, put glue on the front of the card. Take your piece of paper that is the card front and lay it on top of the glued card front in the Misti, making sure to fit it snugly into the corner and the two sides that are touching the Misti. Your card front will be straight against all edges now. Love your videos and your cards.
I love my MISTI! I use it all the ways that you showed! I ave the very first original MISTI and was waiting for the MISTI 2 to come out I am so glad that I watched your first video where you debut the MIST 2. I immediately went and ordered it! I can't wait to get it!
This Dudette loves this video too, they just keep getting better. Did I see a sneak peek of some new inks? 😏 Can’t wait. I use my Misti every time I Stamp and my favorite tip came from Cathy Zilske to use it to line up my front panel to the card base. I never could get it on evenly, especially shakers, now I remove the foam pad, lay my card base in the corner and attach my front panel by butting it up against the 2 sides in the corner. Works every time. I love my Misti, thanks for the great tips!
For years I have had trouble lining up my paper layers. While trying to add a smaller layer over a larger one the bottom one would move. I ‘ve used repositioning tape to hold one in place which was OK but I have since put the paper in my Misti, anchored the paper in place by placing the magnets along the outside and then I can line them up perfectly. How on earth did I manage without a Misti for so long. It is a “ must have “ item.
Simon can you do a video on the difference on Liquid pearls vs perfect pearls. I have just receive some from my friend and i don;t know how to use them,
Liquid pearls are similar to enamel drops when dry... perfect pearls are a pearl powder that you can use with sticky ink. Here’s a video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cv4gEsCyMAQ.html
Hi, Simon! I love your channel! I’m new to stamping and I was wondering if I should purchase the small or large Misti. I have also been looking at the stamping tool made by Tim Holtz, which is also a great stamping tool. Which one would you prefer?
I’ve ordered my first Misti once you announced pre-release. I will use the taping down of the mouse pad. Actually all your advice is something I will try. Thank you Simon
I just purchased the MISTI stamping tool (not the mini) and separately ordered the MISTI Mouse Pad. Well, the Mouse Pad is way too big. Are we supposed to cut it down to size?
Hi Simon, Maybe this is in the video somewhere but I didn't see it - sometimes my cling stamps don't cling to the cover, they fall off. What is your solution? Thanks so much for your enthusiasm!
Wash the part of your cling stamp that is supposed to stick with a bit of water... that gets rid of all of the dust and gunk that it preventing it from sticking. Once it’s dry, try again! :)
My clear stamps are sticking to the paper and it pulls up when I open the Misti, therefore the paper is moving. I am using 2 magnets, and it still moves. Any suggestions?
Sometimes that happens with new stamps. It’s common… just make sure to have the paper in the corner and if it pulls up you can put it back in the corner in the exact same spot. :)
