Thanks for starting to get the new album together ! Attende was one of the best albums Ive heard in over 10 years - I listen to a lot of metal, and your work really stands apart from everything else Ive heard in a very long time. Please keep up the great work, and come to Tokyo sometime if circumstances allow !
i just listened to Shylmagoghnar ' second album Transience and then I remember I love Mistur too and come back to them and this song is one of the best from them.
This is better than the final album version. The main riff has slight nuances that are different. There are some high notes in the guitars that are absent from the final. Obvious at 1:48 in the right channel (headphone/speaker) This voice is important imo.
Multishape Totalt Agree sound on this track is much better than album version. Everything is more acoustic and rough it’s a shame the studio album is so fine tuned
It sounds like the guitar sound in the final version has much less middle frequencies, which makes it sound hollow and distant whereas this one has a lot of presence. They also removed some of the harmony played by the guitars (like that 1:48 high guitar.) That change, I feel, detracted a lot from the emotion of the track. I have no idea why they stripped it down. It may even be that there's a keyboard pad in the background of this version that they removed from the final, but I'm not sure about that.
Then a bright night descended Over mountains and fjords In the moonlight a large and stunning bay On the hillside one orphan sat by a fire And whispered in the night He reminisced the devastating night When the farms were burned to the ground One by one were they defiled A carnage he forever would despise But to him were nothing to happen again The orphan set patiently ready to kill As darkness flew in like an unwelcome bid His fire died out, the fire died out Barely to be seen a motion stirred the water Silence heavy in the air like a threat With it a fear of what was to come Something was afoot Someone on their way Someone on their way The fjords went red this starry night Their ships lit the skies with roaring fire On the white peaks one man appeared Beheld the sight As night fell the enemy approached The fjords shuddered Never again were houses to burn As night fell the enemy approached The fjords shuddered Never again were houses to burn Sharpened swords were soon to make sure Never to rest with sword in hand
last time I feel the same at the first listening of a band, it was Moonsorrow, whatever the time they'll take to release their album, it'll be worth the wait.
Valfar was a true musician... listen this song, only now I realized how much he was awesome. You shall live in our memory, forever. This is the new Sognametal era.
Why don't you organize a show, perhap they will come. Bands just don't decide to come randomly to your town/country, someone pays them to come. Best way to have a band come and play to your town is to be their promoter :)
Well, its Mistur alright...but this should do well to capture the massive Opeth legion...Actually, this should transcend the level achieved by Opeth as listenability and overall quality are superior....I dont know why the fuck im comparing the two bands...It's stupid and pointless, i know and i dont even listen to Opeth outside of their live show...The vocals and parts of the instrumental reminded me of them....Mistur deserves recognition comparable to theirs, thats all...
Thank the Gods no, this do not sound like Opeth in any shape or form, New or old. This is the Legacy of Windir, and has the unique Sognametal tone to it.
