I'm glad you liked that version of sisig that's still good when it's cold. The sizzling kind really is the super commercialized version and is honestly "entry level". The original sisig was meant to be an ensalada or salad and is Spanish in origin. No oil or butter, definitely not sizzling or warm. Oh, and definitely no mayo. Purists don't like it in any version of sisig. 😁

Various Filipino dishes are usually dumped onto one plate so that the sauces often mix together. You can eat the dishes in any order and in various combinations. The fork is used to load food onto the spoon or can be used to spear a large chunk of meat or vegetable while it is being sliced with the edge of the spoon (this works better with metal spoons).

You should buy the garlic chili sauce, you can put it on anything. You can buy the fried garlic too. That version of sisig is already fried like lechon kawali break it into pieces then they add mayonaise, onion, green onions and calamansi. The only lacking is the sizzling plate obviously 😅 The rice and miswa combo is not rare at all. We mix and match everything with rice like for example rice and noodles(pansit).

Its like a sisig and dinakdakan combined. The process is they deep fried the pork belly then cut into pieces then they saute with garlic, onions and ginger. After that put it and a large container then you can put mayonaise, calamansi, salt and pepper with red and green chillis. Yeah its like the both process of sisig and dinakdakan.

The fork is always on the left hand and the spoon on the right. That is because aside from using the spoon as a shovel for the food, its edges are also used as a makeshift knife. As a “knife” you spear the meat with the fork (in your left hand), hold it down, and use the spoon to pry or shear it apart.
