Hands down the wrestler most fun to watch. True respect for someone who doesn’t care when they’re down, but continues to push and have fun. He knows who he is and doesn’t waiver.

Mesenbrink's pace once again breaks guys. Hamiti is really tough, but you saw how the pace was draining him as the match went on. Unreal comeback. Mesenbrink is so fun to watch and can't wait to see his run at Nationals.

I wholeheartedly believe the philosophy that Cael has instilled at PSU is the real edge, beyond the best technical training in the world. But the fact that the focus is on getting better rather than outcomes really allows these kids to wrestle freely, the moment isn’t too big for them. Their identity isn’t about being wrestlers. The mental aspect of wrestling and all sports really is enormous. This interview is fantastic and really telling about the overall philosophy at PSU.

But then you’ve got a guy like Bartlett in that room that is terrible to watch.
@DanielDocWright
@DanielDocWright 6 месяцев назад
@@cincydooleyhow can you say that? Beau wrestled up at 149 for 2 years because of nick lee. Did ok, but didn’t AA. Then, gets his chance at 141, goes into NCAA’s as the 12 or 13 seed, gets 3rd. Entered his senior season #1, undefeated until the big 10 finals and will still be a heavy favorite to win. And you think he’s boring? Most people don’t have enough character in their entire life to equal what this kid has in his finger.

I'm tired of watching Penn State dominate (Iowa fan here). But I have so much respect for Cael's team. And Mitchell is one of my favorite wrestlers to watch in college. Great style, relentless pace, and attitude off the mat. He's dangerous and I think he beats Carr and his former HS teammate, O'Toole @ NCAAs.

Since you’re an Iowa fan, would love to ask; there seems to be a dramatic difference in the “Penn State Way” that we’re starting to see in Nebraska, Michigan, ok state and other small schools that are developing talent. Iowa seems to have been struggling with that, is the “Iowa” way not evolved enough in today’s game to matter or is it coaching? Within that, how did the Ferrari middle finger incident go in the Iowa community? I’ve heard a lot of mixed reactions and kinda split the locker room. Genuinely curious about this one

It's not rocket science. He was gassed then "NOT GASSED" Taking short gulps of air post 1st period. PSU (Iowa most often) dominates 3rd period offense. Hamiti & Bouzakis gassed 3rd period. Mendez gassed vs Bartlett but won anyway. (You could argue Bartlett never shoots).

The fact that two wrestlers from Hartland, Wisconsin, could potentially meet in the finals is insane. When was the last time a finals matched was comprised of guys from the same town?

Sometimes Hamiti gets a little too loose with it. Dude had the match won and just kept wrestling like he had another period left. It’s ok to protect a lead in the last 10-15 seconds of a final.
