For all the people who don't know. The reason Paniro Johnson gets tired quickly is not because his cardio is bad. He has a sickle cell trait. That causes him to fatigue faster than usual.

Yea, hopefully more people see your comment and thanks for adding above too.

@@michaelmaloskyjr Yeah I'm usually all against people with bad cardio, but I wanted to make sure people know it's not cause Paniro is lazy.

@@jasonrahimzadeh2342 Or maybe he was Wrestling the #5 seed at the NCAAs, a kid who beat Austin Gomez. Messenbrink can wear guys down, but Johnson has the type of skills, he can score on anyone. Lost to another Freshmen phenom in Van Ness and he's smaller. But I've said Messenbrink can be a guy who can be in the finals next year as a Freshmen and winning it(he'll HAVE to Wrestle next year as he didn't Wrestle this year). He's gonna have to control his emotions though...

@@USA_Wrestling_799 LOL...I was thinking maybe O'Toole or Carr may go up or take an Oly RS, but as it stands, he'd have to go through both of them(how interesting would it be to see two Hartland-Arrowhead kids in the NCAA Finals...same HS). But, the kid is on a roll. No doubt!

Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard.

What an insult to Messenbrink. The inference that he's an inferior talent. He beat Haines numerous times last year. He wrestles one of the highest paces of any Wrestler I've ever seen and Johnson was coming off a Grey shirt. You saw what he was capable of when he was actually IN the room and Wrestling. Not to mention, he wrestled up a weight(Johnson) and Messenbrink is a 57/65. So a '49 vs a LIKELY '65 pounder. That same Talent beat Gomez, Murin, Van Ness, lost a 3-1 SV to Yianni. If you think that "talent" doesn't work hard, you're delusional.

This cardio problem raises its ugly head yet again. Johnson likes to overwhelm in the first period, mount periodic blitzes then bank the scoring until the end of matches. If you wanna go next level, you gotta build cred as both a relentless competitor and a gutsy go-hard until the whistle blows. Kinda embarrassing tbh and leaves a dent in his integrity: At this level, athletes thrive knowing they're matching their best against an opponent's best. Paniro's fizzle undermines that assumption.
@scourge8097
@scourge8097 Год назад
"leaves a dent in his integrity?" You sound like an absolute clown. Messenbrink is a fanatic who can and will wear out virtually every HS/grey shirt Wrestler in the Country. Especially a kid coming off a Grey-Shirt who hadn't been training regularly with a team that year. This is the same kid who beat pounded Levi Haines. Johnson had just got done training on his own You're talking about an 18 year old kid, the summer before he started College and d1...and a few months before he'd beat Austin Gomez...the same Gomez who was HEALTHY and beat Yianni, the same kid who beat Van Ness, who lost a 3-1 SV vs 4X NC Yiannis as a TRUE FRESHMEN. Who beat SEVERAL AAs this year, Murin, again, Gomez, Van Ness... Who the FUCK are you to question his "integrity?" Or to talk about "embarrassing?" He's a 49 pounder here wrestling a 57/65 pounder. And he took him down with ease. And yeah, he gassed. Why do I suspect you're some D3 guy from the 80s talk about how kids aren't as "tough" today? Or some such nonsense?

@@jaggerbaird3556 You are absolutely correct; I learned another lesson in making assumptions. From what I read, Johnson is the opposite of what I've said: His sickle cell trait makes him "suddenly hit a wall" during a match or a run where he fatigues. Johnson's trying diet changes for iron and vitamin D, but with limited results. Throw in his father went away to jail when he was 7-8 yrs old, his mother had a stroke, childhood friends killed -- Paniro Johnson's pool table is nothing but eight balls, fucking hat's off and humbled by that man's challenges.

The clubbing nonsense has to stop. Just hitting someone in the head over and over is not wrestling. Especially when it is a tactic to get you back into a match you’re losing. Can’t stand this “clubbing” nonsense. It’s hitting. That’s what it is. Which isn’t part of wrestling, and shouldn’t be. USA Wrestling should enforce warnings more for this nonsense. We shouldn’t have it become a tactical part of the sport, for many reasons.
