This week, Mitchell's Ice Cream opened their new mini-location inside of Heinen's grocery store in Downtown Cleveland. Located in the rotunda of the beautiful Cleveland Trust Building, we also did a tour of the glass ceiling, murals, and grocery store setup in an iconic Cleveland building that visitors might not know even exists! We also tried a scoop of Mitchell's Ice Cream during the lunchtime hour. Filmed on May 25, 2022.

That's great they opened up and in the location it's in it's such a big a very nice building and well kept. It's ice cream weather now too 😃. Soo perfect timing of Mitchell's opening. I enjoyed the tour. I love me some ice cream too.

So glad Heinens is doing well at that location. I visited the lobby when it was still used as a bank lobby. Have you seen the nearby old Huntington bank lobby, now closed but used for private functions I believe. It’s supposed to be the largest bank lobby ever built in the US. Amazing to see. Thanks for taking us on this fantastic architectural tour.

I've never been inside of it, but this recent article made it sound like there could be some future plans for it: www.news5cleveland.com/news/local-news/missing-piece-on-euclid-ave-the-centennial-project-gets-40m-boost-with-new-tax-credit

Thanks for the video. It's been a few years since I could be near the famous Heinin's location (COVID & Canada....) and your video helped me remember how great it looked.Looking forward to make the visit myself again.

👍 stopped here last time I was in Cleveland a few weeks ago. Planning on trying Mitchell's strawberry jalapeño ice cream next time also may work at Heinen's.

Spectacular. You won't find that in Nashville, Austin or Phoenix. Cleveland is a real city.

Loved seeing this again CP! I miss our trips down there for lunch. And now Mitchell's, how cool! Did they have my favorite flavor, coconut? It's a seasonal one, just usually offered in the summertime at the Solon store.

Yes, cool indeed! I didn't see coconut though 🥥

I will definitely be visiting this place when I get to Cleveland next week. Never have seen such a beautiful grocery store before. The architecture is beyond awesome. But I assure you I won't be paying $5 for an ice cream cone. Ouch! Great video as usual.

Haha, yes, admire the architecture for free, and then just skip the ice cream cone part, lol.

@@PokoTraveler I just drove by there on July 2nd but couldn't get near the place. I didn't bother to check if there was a Guardians game (there was), so my trip to Cleveland was a disaster. I will be coming back this weekend to do my shopping spree and see all the glorious things on Euclid Ave. I will be eating pizza at Rascal House too, thanks to you. 😃

Ah, the New York Yankees were in town. Any time Cleveland plays them, especially on the weekend (and it being a holiday weekend), it makes sense that traffic was very busy!

@@PokoTraveler Yeah, it was terrible, especially seeing those Yankee fans walking through such a great city as Cleveland. Thank the Lord the Guardians are out of town this week. Can't wait to be back in Cleveland again this week.

When you say bells and whistles what do you mean?

Haha, that's funny you mention that, because after I shot the video, I was thinking to myself, "I should've used a different phrase to convey that more appropriate for food." It was meant to convey that they don't have the mix-ins or toppings that their full ice cream shop would have.

Don't you think $5.00 a small scoop is too much ?
@PokoTraveler
@PokoTraveler 2 года назад
Yes, I'm often a bit of a penny pincher too, lol, so that's probably why I seldom get ice cream out. Cold Stone would probably give a bit more, but the premium is for the local flare.

Yesterday , we both had a ice cream cone at $1.25 a piece , and it just gone up a quarter . Yes , economy is different in Mississippi. But in a couple weeks we're moving out of state

@@sadielampduo3762 I yearn for those prices 😱 My mom especially would; I can't even imagine getting a cone that cheap today.

I think it was something like, "Sick ass GoPro" (a compliment) regarding my camera.
