Mitochondria: An energy explanation for autism

Almost every human cell teems with a potpourri of tiny powerhouses: mitochondria. Up to thousands of them. These organelles use oxygen to convert the nutrients from the food you eat into a form of energy the body can use. The brain consumes a lot of this energy - about 20 percent. Could changes in mitochondria, then, affect how the brain functions and contribute to autism?

I totally thought this was going to talk about how a lot of autistic people tend to have low energy a lot, even those who don't have insomnia. I've always said to myself that the reason why I never have enough energy even though I've gotten a full nights rest and health food, is because my mitochondria is messed up. I'd honestly like to see that research more than another study trying to subtly find a way to cure autism. We can interact with other neurodivergents just fine people! How bout asking an autistic person what they would prefer to be researched more. I bet most of us would rather yall find treatments for our physical traits rather than our social deficits. I didn't mean to be ranty btw. Ive just watched a lot of research videos today and got annoyed lol

This is a very interesting study indeed. I am autistic and have always had trouble sleeping but feel the same way on the very rare occasions I get a full nights sleep. Just as fatigued as my normal sleep pattern. Though, I do feel less stressed usually. Even if they found something, I wouldn't want to be "cured" honestly. Although that's coming from someone that doesn't require much help if any for my daily life. I love how I'm wired😂. I would love to know a reason as to why I'm wired this way though.

Ugh lack of social skills will not magically get cured dont worry. But a cure or prevention would be good. Having a disability however mild isn't a cool thing however much we always tell people with effects that they're just special and have superpowers. It's like telling a kid eith rickets they have magic legs. Nobody wants their child to be born autistic if they could prevent it and be born healthy and neurologically fully functional. You can always choose to be as antisocial as you like snd talk about trains for hours whether your divergent or impaired or not.

Exercise and fresh air. Temple Grandin said it best when she referred to NTs as the social butterflies gathered around the campfire while we Auts and NDS generally were busy defending the camp, gathering needed herbs, storing things needed, observing patterns in nature and health and hunting. Basically, you would not be here if not for us.

Due to neurogenic (autism) sleep-eating disorder, I am on an elaborate diet. The costs have to be covered.

I'm curious about how this effects genetic engineering of artificial humans, the skin cell cloniing, and/or the savior siblings.
