Mitsouko Eau de Parfum by Guerlain is a Chypre Fruity fragrance for women. Mitsouko Eau de Parfum was launched in 1919. The nose behind this fragrance is Jacques Guerlain. Top notes are Bergamot, Citruses, Jasmine and Rose; middle notes are Peach, Ylang-Ylang, Jasmine, Rose and Lilac; base notes are Oakmoss, Spices, Cinnamon, Vetiver and Amber.

My top 3 frags in general are Shalimar, Heritage and Habit Rouge...Guerlain is just class, by far above every other brand

A classic that will forever deserve accolades. The edp at least. I had the same first impressions myself. People kept saying 'stuffy old lady' and all that, but to me it's just pure class. 👌

Love this one. I also have L'Heure Bleue, which has some similarities and I actually prefer. When I smell L'Heure Bleue and then Mitsouko, I get so much more of the ripened peach in Mitsouko. I agree with you that this doesn't smell too old-fashioned. L'heure bleue, even in its current formulation, smells more vintage to me. I enioyed hearing your thoughts on this!

Excellent take. Love Mitsouko. I have 4 or 5 various bottles of this including the extrait and this newer bottle. 😅 Rochas Femme is a classic as well.

@HandsomeSmells they all share the same similar scent profile, which is great as far as reformulations go. I have a 2002 and 2009 edp they're a bit richer than the new one. However, the extrait is in a whole other stratosphere. It's amazing, but I was lucky enough to find a bottle from '83, so it still has real oakmoss, etc. You can't go wrong with any of them.

Great video! For many years I’ve worn Mitsouko EDT (now no longer sold on Guerlain’s web site) at night just for myself and I’ve never gotten bored with it. It’s subtle, complex, beguiling, ever-changing and understated, especially in the EDT concentration. I also own a bottle of the EDP but, as a man, prefer the lightness of the EDT. It smells a little more masculine to my nose. It's also not still with me when I wake up in the morning whereas the EDP is. If you haven't yet read Luca Turin’s book “Perfumes,” be sure to check out his review of Mitsouko. Of all the fragrances in the world, it’s his favorite, and that’s saying something.

@@HandsomeSmells You mentioned wanting to get your nose on Shalimar and other Guerlain classics. Personally, I'm not a fan of Shalimar, which to my nose smells nothing like Habit Rouge, and I certainly don't care for L'Heure Bleu, which to me smells like an old tart trying to hide the smell of sex under a mountain of heavy spices. Jicky is okay - I'm told Sean Connery wore that, but if I want lavender I go to Pour un Homme de Caron instead. I like Vol de Nuit, but only on women. Mitsouko is the only one from that period that I like to wear myself and thankfully, it's enough.

For me it's leans more on the feminine side of the unisex spectrum. Some men will pull this off whilst others will find this slightly uncomfortable to wear. It's best to get a sample first, I wouldn't recommend blind buying.

Thebes? Yeah it's worth a sample for sure, I think I'm in the minority where it didn't blow me away like his other stuff. Others I know think it's a masterpiece. Worth a sample deffo pal. (I would avoid blind buying a bottle).
