I had the same problem, rusty tank would cause filter and injectors to plug up. Your hanger looked clean but the tank was disgusting. Now that you have that all fixed up you can finally enjoy your car. Mine on the other hand tore a hanger bearing and messed up the driveshaft, they are not rebuildable. Love your beautiful car.
Had to do this with my 1994 to too, seems like the rusted fuel tank is a pretty common issue. you can also get them refurbished and sealed at certain shops. the whole thing is a nightmare of a job though
OG'here, ownVr4 since 90's, i see ur issues, kind aCareful using the Prem gas in Cali it's "waterdown" due2 (old stock) not a lot of people using it n it seats there for along time. I suggest used 87clean gas +boost high octane bottle additives instead. I hope that will help you.
Dam man, guess even Cali cars don't get away with that issue... Thankfully mitsubishi changed for plastic gas tanks in the turn of the century. 4g63 T swap with the rear wheels driven only. No regrets
@@MiguelDsm Are you running stock ECU or standalone ECU ? I'll try and help you figure out the problem if I can, but I need some history what's been done to the vehicle.
@@MiguelDsm My first thought is that your injectors are to large for your turbos your static flow rate is not correct your fuel pump might to small also, your ECU can't compensate for the difference.
Surprise that your neighborhood would let U remove the gas tank on the side of the road...I live in Canada quite sure someone would be asking what imma doing as soon as I jack it up..?🤔😁
That tank looks horrible inside, one of the worst I've seen. I bet it runs like brand new after the tank is fixed. Im not sure if that can be cleaned enough or if you'll need to replace it.
@@MiguelDsm It's a miracle it didn't do serious damage to something. It looks like the hoses disintegrated, could have ruined the injectors. I look at WAY too many cars, so I could be mixing up models, but I could swear I remembered reading the 3000GTs were prone to fuel related issues, particularly with their tanks, just like what you've been dealing with. I can't wait to see what the car runs like when you're done. May you have only the best of luck with it from here on 🤞🙏
