Your the person that helped me through my rebuild😂 I just rebuilt my 91 and your the only person that had good videos. It had bent valves in the rear head and I rebuilt it in the car. I’ve watched all of your videos about the car and they’re all helpful and interesting. My abs is bad so that’s my next step . I’d love those parts but with my luck I ain’t gonna get them. Ps I’m 16 and I take pride that I built a car that most men are scared of. Keep of the great content up. That’s for all your help.
A giveaway for those intercoolers would be amazing. Watching my temps after a rebuild I'm just seeing them go up a few degrees as soon as I get into boost on my 91 Stealth Turbo.
My 383 striker in my 85 z28 Camaro flex plate did that to me on a drive. A bunch of use with for my buddy’s bachelor cruse and going around a corner and I kinda floored it and bam done. That sucked I couldn’t shut the car off knowing it wouldn’t start back up but got pulled home
Give us a long term update on the Phenolic spacers, just got mine and they feel like they could be better but I've never used the phenolic material before. it would be nice to see some long term reviews
Ahh yes thanks for the link, I have the AEM also, was unaware I could change my fan settings in there lol My set up has the trunk battery relocation and two intakes like your planning but im not sure about the throttle body coolant, definitely gonna look at that and these mods ya did here thanks again 👍
🤙 yep yep no problem... that whole build is on my channel pretty much step-by-step everything... if you have anymore questions I'm sure it on my Channel or just leave the comment I'll do my best answer you
This is a cool a Huracan and a vr4, I had a vr4 that didn't run and a SL as my first car and am currently working towards buying a Huracan. You have good taste they're even red and white!
Would love a giveaway for that intercooler setup! Also looking forward to seeing how much those drop your temps/ how much power is gained from it, Good stuff as always Ian!
Giveaway sounds cool, especially if I got them lol. Hopefully that front mount will do its job. Also just a heads up, idk how hot it gets over there but here in Cali those front mounts will block a decent amount of cooling that goes towards the radiator so keep that in mind if you plan on driving on a hot day. Keep on the great content man!
Coolant lines for the TB are for the FIAV. You need a bypass plate installed inside the TB if your going to delete remove the coolant lines. 3SX or STM sells a kit.
I hope everyone is doing great. Really enjoying your videos. I love how everything is so well explained. Very excited to see how much it'll make with the new setup.
Lol AutoZone 🤣 .... I went there for that ceramic paint for the heat shields.. and it was in the same spot Soooo figured I would try it ... just going to keep a fire extinguisher with me the first couple drives
My build is slightly different than most 3000gt. I can’t afford a vr4 rn so I got a base model and put a manual trans in and got the dual turbos for it but it’s all on fwd not awd Ik it’s not the best way to go but it’s how I’m gonna be able to have a build I can make some power with and cool turbo noises
It runs along the top of the subframe like the ETS kits did. I built them because nobody else made anything again. Huge temperature drops running the intercooler pipe under the turbo and getting rid of it over the turbo exhaust. I’d post some pictures of it here if I could. I’ve got multiple people running them on 3SX single core, CX single core, and CX dual-core FMIC kits. I’m working on seeing how to get it to bolt up to the Greddy FMIC kits as well.
Crazy man, i need to mentally prepare myself for my VR4 rebuild. You have patients man, have to give you credit. I always wanted to make use of the side scoops.. wonder if there is space for oil or coolant coolers in there? I could give her the crazy cooling of a supercar. Love the lambo by the way, that is a dream for tomorrow though , the VR4 needs all my time and money. Unless Shiba inu returns with a ferotious rally ha ha .
mine has started to boil the fuel as it sits off after driving. Its the craziest thing. I think these things have a huge problem with heat soak in more ways than we know.
To clarify, the coolant going to your throttle body is related to your cold idle vs warm idle. It’s way more simple than you describe it. Basically, FIAV has a wax ball attached to a valve. When the coolant is cold, it keeps the valve open allowing air to bypass the TB… causes higher idle. As your coolant warms up, the wax expands and pushes the valve closed. this stops bypass air and lowers your idle speed.
I was planning on getting some of those side mount inter coolers. My goal is 400whp so it would be a good upgrade for my application. After wrapping it, all that’s left are for me to get bigger turbos and supporting mods
I do wonder what kind of effect wrapping the intercooler piping in gold foil would have. I've seen that around on intake piping, but I can't tell if it does anything or if it's mostly for show.
The torque converter is swelling and the pressure pushing against the flex plate is causing the flex plate to fracture. The reason it's still starting is because at lower RPM.'s the flex plate and that metal piece with the bolts fit together like a socket and a nut my Silverado had the same issue I broke 2 flex plates before my guru explained to me has encountered the same problem years ago. Needs new torque converter forsure.
Amazing that people still find parts for these cars. Had a 1991 Galant Vr-4 years ago before it was stolen and stripped. Gave up on this level of mod because of it. Brandon level gas prices are intended to destroy it for all now anyway.
Lol a plenum spacer won't give you any noticeable gains. You could have hit your goal with just meth injection. But I must admit it is fun to watch you install all this stuff.
Hey man, have you check the compression on your engine after you rebuild it. I don't remember seeing you post it. I check my vr4 when it was cold and I got 130psi
Coming from the shorts earlier... Glad to see the intercooler swap... On the other note since u were mentioning having issue of big heatsoak from the stock intake manifold, My buddy here have similar engine but running n.a did use rb26 big aftermarket intake plenum and custom fit to oem half intake riser... Basically he deleting the massive long runner intake... On boosted application, long runner doesnt really needed... Its just mitsubishi leave them as packaging.. to avoid big buldge on the hood... But if u dont really mind having intake buldge on the hood, by any mean if u can fabricate custom intake manifold, using rb26 bi plenum intake might be a good way to start doing one... Cheers...
Question? What size fuel injectors did u use? And did u have to bypass the resistor? I went with 500cc for mine would I need to bypass mine? Stock is only 360cc so I went to 500
I got 800cc and not if ur running AEM .. .. bypassing the resistor is like a weird thing that some people say you have to do and some tuners can tune with it still on ... I did not bypass mine
I tired those spacers but had alignment issues because it brings the intake manifold higher and the throttle body out further into the battery but you probably won't have that problem.
