Great little camper. Just one tip : drill some holes into the bed base board to alow your mattress to breathe. Otherwise the condensation from you breathing and moisture from you sweating will collect in your mattress and it will get damp and mouldy!
Too bad there are so many critics posting here. Keep up the great work Kris. Looks like a very practical and functional setup in a very capable van for the usage you have. Keep up the great work Kris.
Its an old video but you've just saved me hours of planning and designing i'm not sure if this account is still active but if you see this message i want to say thank you i just recently bought a 2002 space gear Delica and have been thinking of ways to do exactly what you've done so once again thank you so much.
Thanks Kris, this really interesting, helpful and inspiring. About to buy a Delica myself and this what brought me to your channel. In turn I have now found your website through your link here and read your story. I also did not slot in to the school system so bunked pretty much all of it but somehow managed to scrape some academic results as a competent musician. I now teach Primary School children the wonder of music as a teacher. Best wishes for all your working on and I'll keep an eye on any future Delica vids you might post (interested in the bio-fuel aspect_). Also like the look of your courses.
Some really neat ideas and tips there, mate. I'm just about to start working on my new van and will pretty likely steal some of your design ideas. Deadly stuff, enjoy it man 🌈👌
Oh hey Kris, I mentioned your to a guy I follow here in the states. His site is mixflip, does post(s) on overland and campers, G & A etc. He just posted a short 7min story on WARN winches, featuring a Mitsubishi Delica like yours. Thought ya might be interested, and hope it gets ya some more subs:)
Greetings from America. Lovely job. Really nice woodworking. Many times I see the back of the minivan being used as an open air kitchen. That is tough if you are trying to stealth camp but otherwise a purpose made tent that the van backs into solves the problem of rain. Good for a camp site but for the States I don't know. Lots of nice ideas there thank you.
That is an awesome design, love it. Just got a 94 Delica a week ago and am looking into a way of converting into a weekend camper but still allows for daily use. May end up copying your design. Nice work.
Love the concept of this build. Especially having the chairs + table section. I think I'd make the tables slightly larger if possible. Could be great desks for remote working while travelling.
Hi Kris, loving your videos. I have been watching for a couple of years now. I would love to pick your brain on how you have managed to live off grid with such scrutiny on homestead living / off-grid. I have been searching for my own piece of woodland to begin my dream however, I am constantly coming up against problems with residential planning permissions. How did you get round this? Thanks, Thomas.
Hey Kris loving your videos and especially that beautiful house of yours, you’re super inspiring! I just wanted to ask; you mentioned using 80% biofuel in your delica (the greatest van on earth!) I want to get myself one and would be interested in biofuel, just wanted to clarify - Does that mean you use bio 80% of the time and diesel the rest? Or like an 80/20 mix? And for what reason? Cheers!
How can I watch the 3rd video on the camper?. I bought myself the same model and about to start building this setup, although I will be installing a small fridge begging the drivers seat and maybe a cubord onto of that. Would love to see the next video for more ideas but it's set as private
Hi kris, I’ve been trying to find this rule about not needing planning permission in Wales for the sort of thing that your doing online, but I’m having difficulty finding anything. Any chance you could post a link with the info I’m looking for please? (Rule 52?) Cheers buddy👍
Thats almost how my design is But instead of 2 drawers I have 1 large drawer at back Front left is stove and front right is just table to prepare food and behind that is a storage just like yours and behind this whole drawer I have 2 giant storage under the bed and at the back where you have seats I have cabinet to store fridge and power station Also my bed is fixed
Kris you are so smart! This looks amazing! You’ve done an outstanding job! What do you have in it $ ?if you don’t mind sharing. Your girl did a great job too. So the question is...when do we get to meet her? Blessings...
i spent £70 on plywood £15 on paint £50 on the water system. the draw runners were £90 because they are really strong ones the gas hob was £20 and the rest of the stuff i just had laying around. not sure when you will meet her yet...... but she does exist. i promise :D
Even more impressive(total cost)! I never doubted your girlfriends existence. Any girl would be fortunate to have such a smart & hardworking man as yourself. Thanks for the reply Kris.
This is another great video. The ideas for the van are great and perfctly suited for your puropses. For a different perspective, have a look at this conversion of the same van: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TMBiJfn0XgM.html&ab_channel=ThomasHeaton
BLITZBURGH BILLY Don’t you feel like a goof ball now? Kris mentioned her but she hasn’t appeared in a video yet. Many people are ASSuming they know who she is.
