In this video I show you guys how to make your own wheel bearing adjustment tool to keep your Delica or other 4x4 Mitsubishi on the road and save some money!
Cool...but the tightness these require is next to nothing, it can literally be done with one 2 Philips screwdrivers poked in the holes, if you are tightening it to the point of needing a socket on the end it is way too tight, and you will rag your bearing running it that tight.
Other guy's Montero wheel bearing adjust vid shows the ring1st needs to be torqued down to 129 ft.lbs with the special tool, then backed off to 0 then down to 18 ft.lbs. then backed off some. Anyway, appreciate the DIY tool but don't think it would handle the 129ft.lbs. But the tool would be handy for the method I use: tighten till bearing resistance felt while hub spun (good to remove caliper or spread pads so no brake pad drag) then back off a little until hub spins freely and there's a tiny, tiny bit of play. Works for wheel taper bearings. Works for bicycle cup & cone (eg. shimano) wheel bearings. Thanks for great content Crazy Tiger!
