Here are several short clips showing the backyard install of the two upper ball joint spacers generally done to give a bit more lift and correct the geometry of the ball joint. Some points: The tapered face faces the ball joint, bottle jack is helpful to separate control arms and sway bar alignment bolt location, if one of the bolts don't locate easily and catch the thread, drill out 10mm hole to 10.5, keep wheels straight before removal, must use an axle stand and use rear wheel chocks for safety

You don't need jack for the top arm , just slacken off the torsion bar. And the sway bar bolt has an allen key in the end of the bolt.

Since uploading this it was helpfully pointed out to me that the sway bar fastenings are different to normal bolts and have an inner hex head socket so you can lever an allen key against the spanner or socket on the nut. Should have looked closer

Great vid! One thing tho.... aren't they supposed to compensate and correct the camber? From your video seems make it worst. Cheers

Very good point. I believe you are meant to then reduce the lift on the torsion bar the same as what the spacer width is rather than using them as an added lift. This takes the pressure off the BJ and corrects the camber issue. I have done that somewhat though I really need the full lift to clear my 32"s. I will be able to get the wheels camber corrected on mine but it might not be possible on all model with full torsion bar and spacer lift I have been told.

That was my initial intention not to force the torsion bars by winding them up to the max, so for my 31's it was just enough to go half way with torsion bars and fit the spacers to complete the lift. All good with the height but the camber went crazy positive. Even after two visits to the garage to fix the alignment still wearing a bit the outer tyres. Don't know what's wrong..... maybe fitted them with the tapered side wrong way?!

@@noidoisuncaine , I doubt they could be fitted the wrong way as the bolts probably wouldn't go through due to the angle. The flat side sits in the control arm flat cup and the tapered side fits on the ball joint. Maybe there is no final fix - if you have a high torsion bar lift and dont have spacers then you will be replacing your ball joints every 2 years, if you have the spacers you will be wearing your tyres unevenly and they will need replacing every 2 years
