How could I pass up the opportunity to get a grey market Mitsubishi tractor ? Especially when the seller was willing to do most on trade for a simple chicken coup that I build for him. My understanding is that these tractors were imported from Japan where they were resold in the US. All the lettering and stickers are in Japanese. This will be a perfect mini-garden tractor for yard maintenance on the compound in Maine.
3 Cylinder Diesel, 4x4 with Differential lock. 9 speeds, and 3 speed PTO. Hydraulic 3 Point Hitch.

Try changing that battery wth a loader frame in the way.

This is a good tractor, and it isn't weak. It has the same basic layout as my 24 hp with loader and cab, marketed as a CaseIH 255. Watch your battery terminals that they don't short against the air cleaner. That cap down by your left heel is a strainer for the transmission/hydraulic fluid. The transmission holds a lot of fluid; you should use good quality lube, and I used between seven and eight UK gallons to refill it.

Thanks for the tips! Hopefully I can find a small loader to add at some point, there must be a small hydraulic pump for the 3 point… I wonder if it is strong enough for a little bucket

The pump will certainly run a loader. Used loaders for this size of tractor are scarcer than hen's teeth, but the same model will fit a lot of Mitsubishi tractors sold under Bolens, Case, Iseki, and many more. One problem with the cab on my Case 255 was that the plumbing for the heater interfered with the oil filter. By accident I discovered that the filter for an early model Subaru Legend 4 cylinder is a perfect fit, and allows all the room I need. On another Mitsubishi, this one a 17 hp Bolens, I have a hydraulic dump trailer in almost constant use. I only take it off to run the generator, when needed. The Kubota runs a 5' belly mower all summer, and the Case does the bush hogging on wet days.

Do you know if these little Mitsubishi tractors have a three-point drop speed adjustment?

I wonder if the 3 cylinder engine will fit a D2000 tractor?

I will never understand why people buy these awesome tractors, and let them sit out in the weather. It , the weather, really takes a toll on them. In my opinion, if you do not have a building to keep them in, do not buy one.

Yeah it’s been in a garage since I got it, and some sort of tarp protection will follow until I get some buildings set up at the new property
