I love it.. old school cars and rockabilly attitude... and the fact people drinking and driving and no cops harassing is awesome to see.. the vibe is real and is good.. I would wager it is a great time for all... perhaps one day I could come and visit during one of these events.. not sure how an old man would make it but I am sure putting this on the list for a vacation time and destination. am going to sub, like and obviously comment.. Thanks for letting me see many things I grew up with.. Great video seeing families and friends out just chilling and enjoying the day and the scene..
Thank you for your comments! You are very welcome to Sweden for visiting these events. The young ones are very happy during the cruising. If you would like to see cars in mint shape you should look at "Finbilar".
@@Salpeteroxid no idea what you are talking about....and i dont drink really ever and I haven't seen many my age or older in this... shrugs... but ok. 🤔
Actually, I don't believe the designated driver drinks at all. He is usually the only one to stay sober all through the day and the night. Drinking and driving is a no no in this country. The passengers generally get hammered though. It's sad to see so many of the male passengers in the cars drinking cider though. Love from an ex beer drinker and hell raiser in Western Swe.
Svenska raggare 😃 In Sweden there are much more younger people who like american cars. I think that epa tractors and pilsnerbilars are the reason. You see less of this in Finland. I will probably (I hope) travel to Sweden this year. Classic car week Rättvik, Västerås Summer Meet and Power Big meet are interesting.
I drove many of these cars as a young fellow many good times in back seat of the 64's, But thank you Germany for all those Bettles. Them suckers would go deep into the forest and back they even flaoted we drove with broken engine mounts only one brake line even a missing tire at times darn fine machines easy to fix. O a friend drove all summer stuck in third gear.
Thats because you destroyed mosy of them. The ones you see here was saved. Try 100 000sands of dollars if you want em back! Most Impalas is very cheap compared to the real goodies in Sweden. Impalas are also terribly common comparing with many other iconic american classics we got over here.
Its so hard to find any info about these cars. How does one start a raggare build lol, just start kicking the car and trashing it? Or are they cars that were in a bad shape to begin with?
I think most of them are already in bad shape because over 50yr old cars don't need inspection in Sweden. That's why there are so much those raggare builds.
When they turn 50 yrs you do one last inspection on them. But a policeman can order a new inspection if they find there are flaws with the car. So you're not entirely free or out of the woods
@@therealde_cache most of these cars even though they look ratty. are kept in very good condition when it comes to the frame, brakes, suspension, motor and all mechanical parts. its just the body that looks beat
@@AUTOBIBLE They're called Raggare in Swedish (eng. Ragger). "Raggare is a subculture found mostly in Sweden and parts of Norway and Finland, and to a lesser extent in Denmark, Germany, and Austria. Raggare are related to the American greaser and rockabilly subcultures and are known for their love of hot rod cars and 1950s American pop culture. [...] While the raggare movement has its roots in late 1950s youth counterculture, today it is associated mainly with middle-aged men who enjoy meeting and showing off their retro American cars. However, the subculture retains its rural and small-town roots as well as its blue collar and low brow feel. The original phenomenon unleashed moral panic but the contemporary raggare subculture tends to be met with amusement or mild disapproval by mainstream society. [...] Because of their mostly rural roots, retro-aesthetics and attitude towards sex, raggare are often depicted as poorly educated and financially unsuccessful. "
Hej Jeppe! Filmen är en sammanfattning från olika platser i Sverige: Lidköping, Kungälv, Rättvik, Västerås, Säter, Falun och Rättvik. Du kan se kapitlen genom att klicka på "Visa mer".
Nielsen! You are welcome to visit Sweden. There will be a good one in Kungälv (closed to Gothenburg) in May rightbacks.com/kung-lvscruising-2023-20-maj.html
@@mgo95 I get keeping them rough if you don't have much time or money or understanding that cars this age don't always have to be mint. But smashing the back down so just so it scrapes more or purposely painting the flames jobs as poorly as possible... I do t get it... It fucks my mind to trying to understand why someone would do that.
Because its the entire staple of the subculture. They are meant to be ratty, personally im not a fan of the really dinged ones either, but they arent really destroying them to be fair. In 20-30 years they are still going to be rolling and look just the same. Its just a weird form of asthetic modification.
Luizito! US cars are popular in Sweden. The young ones drove "Pilsnerbilar" and the grown up drove "Finbilar" in very good shape. Look at ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gzXlb80XV2A.html&t
Kan inte annat än hålla med dig😪. De har missuppfattat hela grejen med bilar och bilträffar. Detta är llllåååånnnnggggttt iiifffrrrååånnn pilsnerbilar!
@@kurtfalk720 In case they are at all politically aware I assume these people generally tend to lean right in their views. I doubt that very many of them would vote for the Leftist Party or the Greens in the elections anyway.
Sind zum Glück lockerer als wir drauf. Da darf man wenigstens noch seinen Spaß mit solchen Autos haben! Hier im Spießerland undenkbar allein schon dank dem TÜV und der Polizei 🤙🏻
You have two categories of old yankees in Sweden, "Pilsnerbilar" = "destroyed" and used by the young ones and then "Finbilar" = mint quality used by the older people. Since two years I have separate them in my videos because different viewers.
Arturo, if you would like to look at good looking cars you should look at "Finbilar" e.g. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gzXlb80XV2A.html&t
