Mom used baking soda and water. Enough water that you can boil it for 10 minutes. This works every time. I am going to remember baking soda and vinegar, can't boil water on a cookie sheet.
Agreed. The one benefit of adding the salt is it increases corrosiveness and will act like abrasive sand which both should help. I’m no chemist though.
For pots & pans with baked on stuff. Just fill with 1 or 2 inches of water. Boil it & leave it to soak in. Once the dried out gunk is rehydrated it just wipes off. But if you've scratched the crap out of your pans with a scouring pad, it gives the stuff more surface area to cling to & they are harder to clean.
Ive actually had this work! Just baking soda, then vinegbar. Wait half an hour and you wont have to scrub-- it practically slides out (stainless steel pot, relatively new-- burnt rice)! I was thrilled!😊
