This quote... Wow! Right in time for me... For 2 1/2 years we have been working on the project of building our tiny house... Sooo many road blocks and nothing looks like we wanted at first but it will still be lovely and where we want... And yes, the lessons over this time, my husband and I have grown together working on this and we will be more ready for his lifestyle we envisioned a while back than if it would have happened faster ...

Noticed this was 4 yrs ago!! Blessing to you. Great work! I’ve been painting for over 30 yrs and multi media is new for me. I have been more realistic but using both together is so much fun!!

Trust the process. Process/journey of living and dying. There is so much to learn and appreciate even as we accompany a loved one through our last journey with them. This week, after a long illness my mom went on her journey to be with God and loved ones.

I love this process. And I noticed on the top section there is a butterfly, and on the bottom section there is a dove. These images were not necessarily intentional, but are so inspirational to me!

OH MY GOSH! I so needed this today - both watching you work and seeing the stunning piece that emerged. Even more the reminder that we're all on a journey, that the paths we take may be similar at times and very different at other times, yet always uniquely contributing to our specific needs. That when it appears dark to appreciate that this is just a moment, one of many - and to keep moving, to keep layering. Although this video was made 3 years ago, your message is timeless and I am SO grateful that today, the Universe told me I needed to hear what I once knew but had forgotten. Thank you for your beautiful art and words. I lost my beloved husband of 32 years in Jan. So this has been a year of “firsts” today was the first Thanksgiving without him. While I hate that I must live life without him, there certainly is a higher plan (process) that I am clinging to - trusting. Thanks for putting that into words for me tonight. Hi Shawn l came across you by chances and wow am l glad l did, both your art and word spoke to me. I really love your story on how the piece came about and your thoughts and feeling around that. I’ve not seen that on any other RU-vid tutorials thank you it’s so refreshing and authentic. The results is so beautiful and inspiring, I’m an artist but quite new to mixed media and sooooo inspired by this piece,. I’ve notice I sometime struggle with trusting the process in my art and once I’ve put down a layer l can get fixated on not covering it, so your video was so helpful to me in see how beautiful a piece of art can be if you trust the process, thank you Shawn. Oh wow..You are amazing and such an INSPIRATION! I felt such a connection with this piece..It is so powerful! 'Trust the process' is very hackneyed, but in terms of art like this, it makes sense because the end result has many different possible variants.

Why do you mix all your acrylic paint with gesso before you apply it on board? I really like your process and the finished piece ...When you paint, that looks so simple so natural!

What medium do you use for attaching the collage pieces please?

I use Matte medium or matte gel. In this video I used Deco Art matte medium, most often I use Liquitex matte medium and Liquitex matte gel for heavier objects or paper. Thanks for watching!
