Well...Silky Crayons on order for myself now lol. That northern lights effect is awesome. On your borders 1 cm in, you might enjoy using artist’s tape. It comes in different widths and you just put it down, paint, then peel it back up and you have a nice clean edge. It makes it a lot easier when painting too because you don’t have to be careful. I haven’t tried it in coloring books yet, but use it in my watercolor sketchbooks. One other gadget you might like: a “jewel picker.” Better than tweezers for your stars and other sparkly doodads :-)

Wow! You said you didn't want to use anything fancy when you started. Now it all goes on and so beautifully. Blown away by the Northern Lights. That works so brilliantly and then you topped it off with stickels and it got even better. The page is amazing. So different. I actually have a download copy of this page on the go at the moment. But I'm just colouring it. I'm saving my book for my birthday. But even so, I can't really blame my lack of imagination on the download copy. It's a lovely picture though, I'm enjoying it. Using the new Brutfuner square pencils which seem to like any paper! Whilst watching you do this I was getting more adventurous with a page in A Million Unicorns. Inspired by you. It has a black background anyway but I've added iridescent paint, delicate clear glitter paint, gold Signo glitter gel pen and the silver version and a bronze metallic pen. I've used K-i-N. magic pencils on the castle and thought I'd fish the Coloursoft pencils out and air them. Yuck. They do NOT like this paper. I'll finish this bit and go back to the Brutfuner because I know they are OK with it. Yes, it's nippy today. Hubby came and showed me a photo taken this morning in the street in Littleborough where he grew up. Lovely and sunny, but all covered in snow. We've had one short flurry. But I will need to light the fire this evening. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the rest of the image.

I am working on a christmas coloring page in Fairy Celebrations by Klara Markova, with a little mouse and a fairy and a nice cup of hot chocolate with some yummy cupcakes. I love christmas and since I have been working on it, it has been snowing two times already in February and now in April! I am working on the last things, the background with the snow and the sky and I am trying to draw a nice background for the sidepage, I can draw pretty good myself. I am very proud of my page and am certainly inspired by you by using mixed media, coloring pencils, glitter gel pens, metallic paint and I am going to try snow effect paint with glitter 😃. This technique has me really excited. I love the effects. I am also big on stencils for backgrounds, especially for ones this size. On a different note, today is a cool, wet and windy day. Perfect colouring weather. We have just gone into our Autumn season. So when my Luna book and Worlds of wonder arrive I Will have enough to colour myself happy through the colder months.

It all works together So wonderfully!.You are Very effective at "throwing everything" at your pages! haha! You really have a talent of knowing what looks good together.Your love of mixed media shines through!...I am finishing a page in Creative Haven Wish You Were Here, using Ohuhu markers, gel pens, a few Prisma and Crayola pencils for shading. This is my favorite of Johanna's books. Maybe the others are too detailed. I like detail but don't have the patience for Big pages. I'm excited to see you coloring the rest of this beautiful page! Thanks for showing your work!

Amazing video. So much inspiration. I obtained this book a few months ago but before I could work in it, half of it was damaged by a spilled soda. Yay for fur babies lol. Fortunately only the tops of the pages got wet and stained. I’m thinking I may be able to save/cover them with some of the techniques I’ve learned from you. If not…no loss and it’s a good place to practice. Currently working in Pop Manga by Camilla d’Errico.
