Thank you Marit for doing this in 'real' time. It is so much better to see the movement of your hand/pencil rather than in a quickened time lapse which so many other artists do. My FC Polychromos are ordered and I am looking forward to doing this little number when they arrive!
Loved this lesson Marit! I think I had success as I did most of what you said and the result was really nice. I had a giggle about book No.3 (black one) sometimes we do daft things but its a fact of life and no-one is perfect! I would love you to do more lessons like this...preferably Johanna Basford...her books are wonderful and I have purchased 3 so far! Thanks again Marit...you're a star!!
I am getting the full set of polychromos this week (I just have the 60 set now) and I can’t wait to follow all your tutorials with your exact colors!! ❤
I’m so glad you enjoyed it. I just put out a new video the other day where I do a background for the Mushroom House in Worlds of Wonder. I hope you like it. ❤️
Thank you so much 😊 I’m so glad you had a good time colouring. I have lots of videos up on my channel, so have a look and see what else you might like 💖
I've been using Prismas for a while now...bought FC Poly's and you helped me a lot as to how to lay down layers...I printed several copies of this page after I scanned it so that I can practice. I love, love, love this book...thanks so much for this tutorial.
I’m so glad to hear that. They are both such amazing pencils, but they definitely very different in how they lay down and blend. Thank you so much for watching 💖
Thank you for your feedback. I usually do a voiceover with a different microphone, so clearly the settings didn’t work as well this time, as I used the regular camera mic. I will make sure to have the music down further in my next video. Thank you so much for watching 😊
I agree, when the music was playing it was too loud. I love hearing your voice. Thank you for this video. I’m going to pull out my Polychromo’s and use a light hand and layer. 😉 The music is beautiful.
You give such excellent advice and tips. I did find the background music competing with your voice. Lol, I was like shhh- I’m trying to soak up every word! ❤️
Thank you so much for watching. Yes, I think my newer videos have a better voice to music volume level. This one was a little off, and the music got a bit to loud.
Thankyou for this tutorial! I have just got this book and waiting on my Polychromos to arrive with the post. Looking forward to learning how to colour/shade better as I am just beginning. Thanks for your very clear tutorial
Great color along! Great soft music! I like that you use the Polys. I have many different brands of color pencils but most color alongs use Prismas witch is ok but I am happy to learn and use all the other brands. Keep up the nice work.
Thank you so much 😊 Yes, there appears to have been some issues with the sound settings. I only used my camera microphone, and not my good Rode one that I use in my other videos, so it seems my voice kind of drowned away. I will definitely keep that in mind next time. I appreciate your feedback 😊
Love your work you’re so talented I’ve got nearly all of Johanna Basford books I ordered World of Wonder and 2021 Calendar 19 of February and I haven’t got ether of them yet. Last time I will pay up front my husband got them. Keep up the good work I cannot wait to get main.
Thank you so much 💕 I’m crossing my fingers for you that your new books will arrive soon. I’m sure you will love them 😊 Have a colourful day 🎨 and thank you so much for watching.
Great to see you again my friend! Seems like it's been quite some time! Hope all is well for you! You must give me the title to that music you used from Epidemic Sound...very hauntingly beautiful!
Hi Ken! Welcome back, I'm so excited to see you again! I need to get back in and watch you poetry, I've barely been watching anything at all lately. All the music today was by Johannes Bornlof (4 of his Solo piano pieces) and yes, all from Epidemic Sound again. Thank you so much for watching, and have a colourful day!
Thank you so much. I’m definitely not an expert on skin, but I do have one video up with some skin colouring, from a Hanna Karlzon book. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LnrguWNFPX4.html
I love your videos and your tutorials and how you explain things. I just wish i could hear ur voice more then the music. I use polychromos and u been doing tutorials for this book like how ive been thinking i want to do! The music is relaxing, it makes me zone out! while im coloring a long with you! P.S. where are u from i love your accent! I have 2 books 2 but have messed up in both of them :( haha. IM thinking of buying another this weekend...But I love your videos the past day and a half especially been watching consistantly. thank you for taking your time to make these color alongs!
Thank you so much. Yes, I’m hoping my newer videos are better when it comes to volume. Have been playing around with the sound setting, and I hope you find them better. I’m originally from Norway, but have lived in Australia for The better part of two decades now, so my accent is a bit of a mix. I love having two copies of the same book. At least a few of the pictures from Worlds of Wonder are in Flourish as well, which makes it easy to practice. Thank you so very much for watching, I’m so glad to hear you’re enjoying the videos, and I really appreciate your kind comment and feedback. Have a colourful day 💜💚
P.S I dont mind at all that the video didnt film the black book. But what colors did you use for it besides black and the gold colors? where there any others? I love the books! would love to see more! Thank u!
@@MaritsColourfulAdventures I’m so glad u thought it was kind I really wanted it to seem that way but u never know with ppl these days and I’m learning right now in my art program how to do positive critique but it’s so hard on the internet if u don’t know the person and how their gonna take it! I want to visit Australia so bad! (Not just cuz of my name-sry I get that way response alll the time lol) I already have 2 copies of wow but I really want the spiral version on Amazon. Ur accent still is beautiful to me! Ive been watching ur tutorials almost all day lol (from pausing and playing btw) lol I love the music I get lost in it honestly ur tutorials really are great I really hope I didn’t offend u and u keep making coloring tutorials. Because ur really good! I even tried ur books while I actually commented on it. Do u have social media to tag? Or fb page/insta?
Thank you so much for watching. I’m so glad you liked it. All the music is from Epidemic Sound (link in description), and the artist is Johannes Bornlof 😊
Welcome, and Thank you so much for watching 😊 I find that the Prismacolor being a softer pencil, it works better for blending. The Polychromos works too, but it’s a harder core. I prefer Polychromos for the layering though, and building up the colours, so I kind of take the best from both and make it work together.
Marit... thank you so much! You got me through COVID watching you color in detail the forest library in Rooms of Wonder. I was so excited to color this stack of books when I just got my copy of Worlds of Wonder, but this drawing isn't there 😔. Is the US version different, do you know?
I’m so glad to hear you’ve had fun colouring. I’m not actually sure if the US version is different. This picture was as you saw on the little flip out part on the front cover. Does the US version not have that maybe? I haven’t found it anywhere else in the book. However if you have Ivy and the Inky Butterfly, there are lots of books in there, and you could use the same techniques for those (I have another video showing those books too).
Thank you so much!!! I don't have a flip cover on my Worlds of Wonder book, but I do have Ivy and The Inky Butterfly!! I'll definitely take a look tomorrow and I can't wait to try what you showed us. So beautiful. Thanks for responding!!
Yes, as I mentioned in the description, unfortunately something happened somewhere in between the editing and me uploading it to YT, which caused the volume setting I had done to reset. I do have a similar video to this one up on channel that was done less than a month ago with better sound.
Thank you so much, I have never seen books coloured like this. They are wonderful! I never noticed the music after a while as I was so enthralled by your talent. I am a newbie to colouring and appreciate the time you put into sharing . Thank you again.
I’ve copied your book colouring but with Arteza 48 tube, don’t have poly or prismacolour , and I am SO HAPPY with it, so your happy colouring wish has come true for me!! Hahaha!!
I’m so glad you enjoyed it. Yes, I’m definitely adding more Worlds of wonder videos. I’ve got part 1 of the title page up now too. Thank you so much for watching 😊
You are an excellent teacher!! I would love any tutorials from Johanna’s books. Thank you so much for the books coloring- mine are not yours but closer than I could ever have done on my own!!✨✨
Thank you so much! I’m so glad you enjoyed it, and were able to follow along colouring your own books. Thank you for watching. I wish you a colourful day 🎨💖
Beautiful! Have you tried the Mitsubishi Uni pencils? I have started using them with my Polychromos similar and adds to the amount of colours, no idea as to colourfastness though.
Thank you so much for watching. No, I’ve heard them mentioned a few times, but I’ve never tried them myself. Sounds like they could be a good one to try out. Thank you for the suggestion 💜💚
Glad you liked the video 😊 However I don’t chew gum at all, so I most definitely wasn’t doing so in this video, or chewing anything else for that matter 😊 so I’m unsure what sound you mean.
My Worlds of Wonder book does not contain this image. Are there different versions of the book? I was excited to color this one. I spent a good bit of time yesterday picking out colors from my Kalour set to match as closely as possible to the Polychromos colors used only to discover today that I don't even have the image to color. I assume it's on a little flap on the front cover? My copy does not have a flap. I wish that when printers do this the image would be offered to those with the book for free download. Oh well. I just ordered another copy to if I get lucky but if not it's going back.
What is on your nails? Never seen anything like that before where they are that thick sticking up from the actual nail,is it something new??? The color is pretty too
LOL It's my SNS nails that have grown out way too much (they've been on nearly 4 weeks). I just haven't had the time to get them redone. My index finger has come off too as you might see. I do love that pale blue colour though. Thanks for watching, and have a colourful day!
