In this episode, we create a mixed-media drawing of a jellyfish on colored Mi-Teintes paper using gouache and pastels. This is a timed drawing exercise and lesson in which only 45 minutes are given to complete the drawing live.

Thanks guys, got some great ideas for using pastels and gouache. I have just recently started using colour pencils,such a different movement from using a brush.

Hello. So glad you’re back. Enjoyed this video. As a former teacher I had many Chris Van Duden books in my classroom. He is both author and illustrator. He used gouache in all of his illustrations. My students not only loved his stories but the illustrations as well. Check out his page.

If you see jellyfish in tanks they are usually “head” down. Random fact of the day. We must think the look better like this so we flip them.
