A few months ago, I uploaded this tutorial on my Patreon page, but since most of my patrons are C4D users, I decided to unlock this video on RU-vid. Hope you'll enjoy. Cheers!
Thanks for the great tutorial! I downloaded the updated Houdini 17 version but have another question: it it possible to keep the fluid source active instead of turning it off like in the video?
@@everydayhero3610 Late but, see below, Christian Kelch replied and hope this will help. 1 year ago Here's the setup for H17.5... uploaded.net/file/d88jb4ke
does this tutorial work, if you want two separate objects to emit two different colors to mix with each other? like one blue and one red to mix? thanks.
If anybody gets lost like I did getting the volume source to work, just utilize the shelf tools and dig through what Houdini does. Best way to keep with the updated practices
hello, I do not understand I have everything that has disappeared, I do not see any animation, I see flat particles which do not move depending on whether I click on merge or other otherwise I do not see anything, I have checked everything twice tutorial, i'm exactly like you on the video, where do you think it came from?
Unfortunately h17 has changed the sourcevolume dop [3:20] in some way. It doesn't look anything like the video where you get the blue spheres. My screen simply remains blank.
You now set your source type at SOP level (after the attribute create). In this case you'll create a FLIP source there to be referenced by your volume source in DOPs.
@@robleymcdonnell I feel like ive done what you say (but want to confirm to be sure) but still don't see the particles. I added "flip source" to each object after attribcreate, before merge. In dopnet > volume source, initialize Source FLIP, SOP Path = /obj/box_object1/Fluid_Source. Is this what you mean?
I can't for the life of me get this to work in 17.5. I've watched the video through three or four times so I'm guessing it may be a change on the software side...
I commented below earlier but the main difference is that you set your source type after the attribute create by adding a FLIP Source node there to be referenced inside of the DOPnet. Do that and the rest should work. Stress on should.
