Refreshing to hear a no bs approach to mixing. One of the best vids on the topic out there. Nice and simple.

Mixing is 60% gain levels, 5% reverbs, 5% gain staging, 10% low end treatment, 10% eq and 10% saturation, clipping and mastering

I think that it all depends on what you are mixing.

Yo! Loved this vid; helped me zoom out of the complex mixing process I've cornered myself into. One question: I can't help but get nervous about the final low end energy in your drum bus, will all of that remaining content/"mud" not clash with the upper harmonics of the bassline?

I can relate to this mate, but mixing the low end really doesn't have to be that difficult. Start with smart midi placement and sample selection. Make sure that works as well as it can first. Then do proper gain staging (either the kick or bass should be dominant - can't have it both ways). And then last, resort to side chaining, corrective eq-ing etc. Also, try using mb saturation to give the bass some power; f.e. Saturn, r bass, or roar if it's lacking in that area.
